I ordered mine through provantage.com. It was a little cheaper than newegg and I am very pleased with their customer service (they actually called me and thanked me for my order). They put in an order with ASUS so I'll get one of the next ones off the line. My ship date is supposed to be the 22nd according to ASUS.

5970 has no dvi. looking at the back of mine right now. It has two of them lol, + hdmi and displayport.

isnt the 5970 a dual card in the first place? at least when something goes wrong, you wont lose them both.

I think it's two clocked down 5870s actually, but it performs on par with 2 5850s. This is correct, that is why the 5970 is made for overclocking. They don't clock it faster because it would EXCEED ATX spec.
I've read somewhere that the 5970, however beastly at overclocking, cannot reach the same clocks as what two individual 5870's can achieve due to a hardware limitation of some sort. Can't recall what, though :?

IIRC, the PCIe slot has a max power draw of 300W, and the 5970 is dangerously close to that. However, with two PCIe slots with 1 5870 one each, one is able to overclock them in CF as they please, since the each PCIe slot can handle each 5870 easily.
