specifically, i want to get an Alienware Area-51 M15x but i don't know where to get it. i know i can order it online but can i would much rather buy it from a store. i've checked futureshop and bestbuy sites and they don't even have that brand. is there anyone who can help me?

and also i have done research on the laptop's features/specs and from what i've read, its considered one of the best laptops for gaming. but then i see people complaining about the keyboard responsiveness, the touch sensitive volume control, and how it crashes or gives error when you try to install games. is this true? i plan on using the laptop for playing world of warcraft, using the internet, and downloading songs and uploading photos. is the alienware m15x good for all those uses?

thank you for your help.

Id say its overpriced for that purpose, WoW plays fine on my old laptop from 2005.... and uploading/dowloading only requires wireless...

So unless you are willing to pay extreme amounts for something that still doesent play modern games well, go for a much cheaper laptop from HP or something like that.

Of course, if you want to game, get a desktop, it will smash that laptop any day of the week. You dont need to build it yourself either, although prebuilts generally cost more, and are not upgrade-friendly, its still better if you never even seen the guts of a PC.

yea i was wondering if i should get an alienware laptop or not. i just wanted it because it's one of the best ones out there and i plan on playing a lot more pc games. i also wanted a laptop that will last long and is very good quality. i'm aware that the price starts at $1400 CANbut if its really expensive than i'll probably go for a Dell or Toshiba laptop. is there any other brands for gaming that would be better?

I use the Alienware m15x. and its a great laptop for gaming. i am using the intel dual core t9300 at 2.5 ghz 2GB of 667 ram and a 9800mGT and i am able to play crysis on high settings at about 30 FPS. the touch controls are fine they can be a wee bit irratating cause if you swipe your hand across to clean of dust you end up opening like 6 programs. but i have no regrets buying the M15x i love to show it off to my friends with the FX lighting system. As to where to get it the Alienware website is the only place to get it because you have to have certain things customized (like the name plate at the bottom, and the hardware you want in it) so if you want a gaming pc that can be taken around with you the M15x is the way to go.

Alienware is a rip off, you can buy some 600-700$ laptops off newegg.com to play wow and do other things of the sort, just make sure the laptop has a dedicated GPU and its decent by checking benchmarks/3dmark06 comparisons.

I guess if you just want to burn your money, go for it. There are plenty of other more affordable options.
