I find ebuyer.com a great place to shop for parts they are cheap and have super quick postage. Dabs.com is also worth a look. scan.co.uk is also touted as one of the best places to shop but i cannot vouch for that as i haven't bought from them before. What ever you do stay away from overclockers.com very very cheap but awfull customer support.
Scan.co.uk are brilliant! They offer good prices and THE best components, a lot of the others use cheap PSu's etc.
scan.co.uk
www.dabs.com
ebuyer also work aswell as amazon
another good place is www.misco.uk
misco is a sister company to tigerdirect which preforms the same function here in n. america.
as for prebuilts scab.co.uk and zoostorm would probably be the only folks i would ever give a dime to.. but to each his own i suppose..
Eh? I think you mean OCUK also they're far from cheap and their customer support is fine. 3XS (Scan) is said to be the best in the UK ATM for systems. For parts Scan has the best selection of good parts, eBuyer is good for cheap parts if you know what you're looking for, Lambada Tech is good if you want enterprise gear and Kustom PC is good if you want modding/LAN gear. What ever you do stay away from overclockers.com very very cheap but awfull customer support.

Just google "overclockers.co.uk complaints" and check some of the horror stories people have had with their after sales service.
Again, as I am so Impressed by Scan's amazing customer service and the care of their builds I am going to recommend them again :)
Alternatively I could go by my own personal experience with them which has been fine. stick any website +complaints into google and it will chuck up tons of results. People like to voice their complaints, but rarely go online to say how pleased they were with the service they got. Unhappy people are a lot more vocal than happy ones.Just google "overclockers.co.uk complaints" and check some of the horror stories people have had with their after sales service.

Ive always used ebuyer. As they always have the components im after at the best price online with free 5 day delivery. Which normally only takes 2 days to get to your front door!! Scan have recently been voted best retailer, but there always soo much more expensive compared to ebuyer.
I've used aria, ebuyer, scan and overclockers. I keep using overclockers and have had no issues with them at all even when I had a faulty 8800GTS took no longer than expected to get it replaced and I had no trouble nor did I receive any apathy from their customer service.
Overclockers seems to offer the best pre-built setups for gamers for a number of reasons; they overclock most CPU's and dont use standard heat sinks, they always use branded/quality products very important when it comes to the PSU.

Well, if you Google "[company name] complaints", you'll get a lot of complaints.
People don't feel compelled to go online and tell everyone about pleasant experiences they've had with customer service. They do however, feel compelled to go online and rant about how awful a company is because Royal Mail lost their package.

Yeah it's stupid logic to do this, if everyone did the same thing "[insert company] are great!" then no one would ever be able to find the complaints for most companies as the complaints would be completely drowned in praise posts.I find that Scan has better prices than ebuyer, but their delivery options aren't quite as flexible.
I've bought components from both, and they're both good. I tend to use ebuyer since I can get it the next day (even on a Saturday, admittedly at a price) or free via Royal Mail (a lot easier to pick up if I'm not in when they come).
Try googling overclockers.co.uk reviews then, amounts to the same thing still, boards are full of how their service stinks. And I have first hand experince at how shoddy they are, and no it wasn't because royal mail lost my post. Simply dismissing so many peoples valid mostly negative reviews out of hand because you believe people like to moan about things rather then provide good feedback is silly.
I've looked into the complaints before, in reality they stem from the same small group who are just very vocal. Same thing happened about my uni; every bad review stemmed from a single person.Try googling overclockers.co.uk reviews then, amounts to the same thing still, boards are full of how their service stinks. Definatly agree with you on the point of Overclockers. I dont tend to use them anymore since Ive had a number of components from them that have failed after a short period of time.
