I'm interested in building my own gaming computer, but I'm not quite sure where to start. I choose to make a computer instead of buying a 360 mainly because I perfer the graphic/processing power of a PC, and I'm looking forward to games such as SC2 and Diablo3. I'm looking for tips and step-by-step instructions. Any help is appreciated! :D

And btw, is Windows live any good, or is it complete inferior to Xbox live?

Nobody I know uses Windows live.. lol. If a game is half worth its weight, it'll generally have it's own multiplayer client.. that's not to say there won't be newer games like DOW2 that depend on it, but I'm just speaking from experience. As for PC builds, check the Hardware section of the forums, everything you need to know is in there somewhere. Good luck!

I suggest buying the latest pc gamer pc building bible. Its very informative, accurate, trustworthy, and it explains everything you need to know to pick out your parts and put them together. I wouldn't ask for help in a forum like our hardware section because you will get too much junk, preferences, and lies. Here's an online link but I prefer to buy the hard copy personally

Here's a good book to start with: Build It. Fix It. Own It: A Beginner's Guide to Building and Upgrading a PC, you can get it at Amazon.

Here's a good forum here at GameSpot: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/home.php?union_id=custompcunion Highly recommended !!

Here's some good web links to start with:
