Which AMD processor is better for gaming?

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor

or

AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

the 965 I believe

ty i was just wondering since the fx is their newest line, but the black seems to be a tried and true processor they are both the same price

Pretty much even from the information that I've seen. I have a PII X4 955 Black and it's a great gaming CPU. It was easy to OC to 3.7ghz and gain a bit more muscle too. Many people have hit 3.9 to 4ghz with the 955 and 965's with cheap air coolers. Nothing against the FX-4100.. it's a solid gaming chip for the money and is less power-hungry than the Phenom II's.

theres little difference, flip a coin over it.

this being said if you do any professional work or multimedia ignore both and get the 1045t @ tigerdirect it preforms better than the 4100 and 965 (assuming stock clocks)

i approve im jsut saying that you could save 8-10 bucks and get the exact same result

The best AMD processors for gaming are STILL the Phenom II X4 processors like the 955, 960T, 965, and 970. The Phenom II X4 980 and the top of the line FX-8150 run neck and neck in gaming. With the right motherboard and aftermarket heatsink you can easily overclock the 960T or 955 past the 980's clock speed of 3.7ghz.karren17
