I cant believe noone has mentioned these:
NATURAL SELECTION - ALiens v humans type mulitiplayer mod -great fun
THE SPEACILISTS - Matrix type mulitplayer....Was going to become a standalone but the dev went to work for valve instead of creating continuing work on it. its like you roll around sorta GOW style but you get "pickups" that slow down the action matrix style and any one in the near area gets slowed down too. Its REALLY REALLY addictive.
GARRYS MOD - Although havent played...everyone keeps saying its great. I want to get it just to create comics...lol.
Oh man theres loads..... another is SOURCEFORTS....where you build your base in one round with your teammates and in the next you fight it out trying to take out the other team and destory their base as well as keeping your own a float.
Your best bet is to goto......MODDB.COM, goto the mods section and obviously select half life 2 in the drop down menu.
By the way - dont forget to filter the 'development' status by simply clicking on the 'development' link where it shows all the HL2 mods, this way you'll know whether or not they have been released or not. MODDB.COM is great because it reviews it and they have Mod of the month and everything. Go there and check out the mods...they dont just do HL2, they got the whole DB of games there!
