I think the Asus DCUII variant is awesome, or any non-reference PCB 670. I would take a reference one in a heartbeat though if it was $50 off though.

I want to get a 670 as well. I look on NCIX almost every day for good deals and stuff! I live like 2 mins away from one, so its really easy for me to go over there and pick stuff up.

I'd go with the ASUS one.

Either that, the Gigabyte or the FTW edition.

From what I've heard is that Asus, EVGA and Gainward are excellent brands. I have a GTX 670 from Gainward.

I've had a Zotac GTX 260 and no problems encountered with it at all.

And dude, that EVGA GTX 670 looks horrible in its appearance! The FTW version looks hell a lot better but it's overclocked though.

Why would it make a difference if its OC'd or not? Factory OC's aren't really that big to begin with.

Why would it make a difference if its OC'd or not? It really wouldn't make a difference.

I personally don't like overclocked components as they tend to produce more heat, and this could lead to failure at some point in its life.

But I could be wrong, I don't know. I'm not passing this opinion as fact, obviously.

600 series Nvidia cards boost clock, they essentially self overclock automatically when there is some headroom. Its generally very safe and well within temperature thresholds (and if they're running too hot they wont push as far) OC cards are generally very safe as they generally carry mild overclocks :).

The FTW edition has a full length pcb and a better cooler than the reference 670s, so no worries there.

And yes, it does look better ^_^

I have two Asus GTX 670s and they are great. After coming from a reference 8800GT which ran hot as hell and sounded like a jet engine, I was amazed with how quiet and cool they ran. They also use a larger PCB and a redesigned VRM.

They're also one of the best looking non-reference cards imo:

The number of games using DX11 seem to have grown recently, but seriously what excuse do developers have for not using it? don't they want their games to run on many PCs as possible and as optimized as possible?

I was an EVGA customer for life when they replaced my old 9800 GTX that fried with a brand new GTX 275 a few years ago. Saved me a bunch of money because I probably would've sprung for a GTX 460 or 560 when they came out if I had still been using my 9800.

I've had nothing but great experiences with EVGA. They even upgraded me to an 8800GTX when my 8800GTS auto fan control stopped working. That was when they still did lifetime warranties though.

Yep. I was super excited about my free upgrade lol. Just make sure you register it on their site otherwise your warranty is only 1 year instead of lifetime.

Good choice, I would probably have gone with them. I should teach myself not to be bothered with how the card looks. :P
