The answer is neither! Unless you aren't using them for gaming then it's best to build you own :D

The HP is better. It has twice the Ram 8GB vs 4GB. Other than that they look pretty much identical. But everyone else is right you could probably build it yourself for cheaper.

how would that computer be faster since it only has 2 gb of ddr2 ram? the other two computers have 4 and 8 gigs.

You don't need more than 4gb in anything but a workstation or server.

i wouldn't buy either of those computers. go to dell outlet. the outlet is where you can buy computers that people returned. there might be a small scratch somewhere on the case..but you can get a good computer for a very good price.

i totally disagree. if you get a mid to high end pc from the outlet you can upgrade it plenty.

i myself got a Q6600 from the outlet almost 2 years ago. i've overclocked it to 3ghz.

it came with 3gb of ram, i upgraded it to 6gb...and i could go to 8gb.

it came with a 8800 GT and i upgraded it to a GTX 260...and i'll upgrade the video card again in a year

it came with 2 hard drives with raid..and i could add more hard drives

i disabled the onboard audio and added a sound card

i upgraded the power supply from 375w to 630w.

this computer is the best bang for the buck i've ever had.

Don't get that one :P If I were you I would build one, if you can't do it, let the company that you bought parts from do it for.
