I thought I'd start a discussion around a topic about which my gamer friends and I had a lively dispute the other day. Which DD client do you think HAS THE BEST DESIGN (visual, functional)? I know that most people probably use Steam but I heard over and over again that Impulse is actually a lot better even though it is not as popular. Some of my friends also swear by D2D's Comrade because they think it's more appealing. Can you help me settle this once and for all? I have to steer my friends away from these nerdy discussion, lol. P.S. By the way, it's too bad that I am a new user and can't create a poll around this.

GoG, because there is no client. I only have experience with the Impulse and Steam clients, but of the two, I like Impulse's look a bit better. But it's not something I'm going to write love letters about.

Steam because of the awesome new UI update that is in beta now. Impulse is pretty simple and it gets the job done, but it can't compete with the (new) Steam, it finally is advanced enough for its huge community and huge catalog of games. The new Steam seems hard to use at first because it has way too many options compared to the old one but you get used to it fast and it's actually easier than the old one and you can finally manage your games, not on custom categories but at least you can choose just to see the installed ones or favorites not all your tenths of games

Blizzard Store. Simple, easy and unobtrusive. The bad thing is that only provides access to Blizzard games.

Impulse. Steam's new GUI might change things, however not having the client to run is a huge bonus for Impulse. Desura looks pretty awesome, and X-Fire is quite good too.

I liked impulse more but the new steam beta client is great Also on the plus side for impulse is that you dont need the client to start a game

It'll revolutionize the modding world ;). Maybe it'll get some fame from digital distribution but it's main purpose, mods (easy mod upload/download, update, mod managing, and anything related to game mods) will make it big.

I too agree. I still prefer gamersgate client though or absence of client while I play the game :P
