Which do you prefer? I like RTT's more because it cuts out the base building and resource gathering and cuts straight to the action.
P.S. I would have made a poll, but I already made one today, sorry for the inconvenience ;)

RTT for me...RTS is too dumbed down and outdated...for how long can they reuse the same Dune2 gameplay?
RTS is just plain "Classic". What's better than building up a base, and using your army to stomp the other player? Nothing I tell you!Vilot_Hero

What is this M2TW you speak of?Seeing as the only RTT I've played is the combat half of Rome: Total War, and that doesn't really do anything for me except for experiencing cool battles (RTT gameplay on its own is far shallower than RTS gameplay) I'm going to say RTSs.
Technically, Total War is RTT/TBS, so it can have cool actiony battles and strategic depth at the same time.

Ah, well I cant really afford a new game, so I still say RTS is the king. This may sound stuppid, but i thought that there is only 2 types of Strategy , RTS (Real Rime Strategy) & TBS (Turn Based Strategy) what is RTT (Real Time Tactics ???) i have no idea at all. Shatilov
RTT is Real time strategy turn I think , and to answer the topic RTS. Like to build base and etc.

well, we have RTS Sins of a Solar Empire and RTT World in Conflict...how's SoaSE is *dumbed down* compared to WiC?
as for outdated, or OP's "straight to action," I'm fine with it since I like antique games.
yes, there's tb kingdom management, and the combat is purely RTT. so saying how great Total War games are is not gonna add points to RTS.[QUOTE="bangell99"]Well Total War games are ... (TBS + RTT)teardropmina
Lolwut
I'm not trying to say Total War is RTS...
I love RTS, but I don't really like pure RTT games. However, I love TBS + RTT games the best.

I re-read the whole thread, and my now deleted passage wasn't directed at your comment.
anyway, I don't online whie gaming so I don't know about the Total War MP game...does it include the kingdom management part or gamers can just pick a fight with others? if the later...then, I can see why people would use Total War as the representative of fun RTT.

now it makes perfect sense isn't it (skip all the preparation for war, just straight to the battle field)~_^
