What card should i get an Nvidia 8800 series (EVGA,GTS,GTX,XFX) which ones should i get that are the best but not crazzy expensive?scottishme
I also am looking for a new graphics card (although i know nothing about were to start) and i was directed that way because it was recommended on something, anyway if anyone else has any advice i would greatly appreciate it as well
the 8800gt is the one to go if u don't want to spend a lot of money, but if i would wait til dec 3rd for the new g92 gts to come out.
If u can't wait till then, the 8800gt equals the performance of a gtx at lower res and has a great quality/price ratio (just be ready to order one and wait A LOT for it)

Nvidia 8800 GT is the best deal around at the moment, it's about $280-$300 (depending where you shop) for the 512MB version. The manufacturer you choose isn't as big of a deal, just browse forums and sites to see which one seems to work well (aka no overheating issues, etc.) Personally I have had good luck with eVGA and BFG.
If you want something cheaper you could always go for the Nvidia 8600 GT. Be warned if your trying to run new games like Crysis and CoD4 it won't run it as well as the 8800's. The good news is that it's only about $120.
The last choice would be the 8800GTX card. It out performs any of the other 8 series cards, but it also costs about $550.
Hope that helps you out, let me know if you have more questions :)
How much will that new one cost???the 8800gt is the one to go if u don't want to spend a lot of money, but if i would wait til dec 3rd for the new g92 gts to come out.

We won't know until it's out.
i heard rumors that it'll cost from 349euros to 399euros in europe, and in the us shouldn't pass 450dlrs, and that's pushing it if in europe it goes for that.
there will be the 512mb version and the 1gig version, so don't expect to get the 1gig card at 350dlrs
(f**ing msg interface doesn't recognize the euro symbol, and doesn't even tell u it doesn't support it)
