You probably aren't going to want to hear too many of the opinions from the PC gamers forum after comments like that.
I guess I will answer your question anyway, because I'm such a helpful fellow. I'm good looking, too. Remember that.
Oblivion is a mediocre RPG - one of the worst RPGs I've ever played, with a generic and boring story, dire voicework, very humdrum dialogue and a combat mechanic which would be exciting if it weren't for the fact that the levelling system - which is fundamentally broken - saps all possible risk and excitement out of it.
But it's one of those games which is better than the sum of its parts - a good thing for it, considering how its parts are all rubbish.
Crysis, on the other hand, is just brilliant. There are guns and North Koreans and I just can't think of a better way to sate your latent xenophobia.
I think this post is going to get moderated, but I'm not sure.
PS buy Crysis.
Well if there isnt anyway you can possibly get both, get oblivion first, since its alot longer than crysis is, After you get a little bored with it, then buy crysis...and love it.
So i guess Oblivion....first but dont ignore crysis.
I'm under the conclusion you're either somewhat illiterate, or you're 11.
In this case, I'll reccomend the Bee Movie game.

Maybe you're younger, you certainly don't act maturer.^^
In answer to the question - they are different game types and very dificult to compare. Crysis is an FPS which while open, in some ways similar to oblivion, doesn't have the degree of depth to it. Oblivion for that reason will last much longer as you discover more and get more out of the game. Crysis is pretty much in your face, sophistacted shooter, always action oriented.
If you want instant excitment, bullets and explosions in a modern warfare sort of setting, go Crysis. If you want to get your kicks in a reasonably realised fantasy world, then oblivion. Both games are a bit heavy on the graphics so make sure your pc can run them before you buy.
What's up with people being jerks lately when someone asks a question...
Anyway I was JUST playing Crysis... as in 5 min ago literally. I got Oblivion when it came out and put about 30 hours into it before getting bored. Crysis I've played for about 3 hours so far and It's fun SPECIALLY for an FPS since I dont like FPS anyway.
If you HAVE to choose between the two, get Oblivion first and get Crysis when you get bored of that. I'm saying that cuz Oblivion will last longer and is cheaper. Both are fantastic graphics wise (that is after getting the obvlion graphics mods) although Crysis does take the edge but then again requires a crazy computer to run at Max.
It depends, if your computer is amazing gt Crysis, just because you can and its worth it, otherwise get Oblivion.
Only problem with Oblivion is that it is one of the worst RPG's ever, try The Witcher or any of the Forgotten Realms if you want a real RPG. If you want a shooter where you use swords instead of guns get Oblivion.
But please don't ever call Oblivion one of the best RPG's ever, I've already lost my faith in humanity once...
oblivion is really fun because its lkike the best rpg ever. you create your character and dicide if hes evil, goodjericho180
Hmm... You are asking if you should buy Oblivion, but it seems like you already have the game. Or then you are just saying what your friend told you. And since when have you been able to decide if your character is evil or good? There's only few times when you are actually able to choose something. Like Fingers of the Mountain quest for Mage's Guild.
Oblivion is definitely not the best RPG ever.

It depends. They are both a lot of fun, but Oblivion has potential for more game play and will run on a lesser rig. Crysis has brilliant graphics and fun gameplay, but multiplayer is iffy right now to the potential for extended game play is lower. It also depends on if you prefer FPSs or action RPGs.
