I just bought quite a few new games and was wondering which one to play next (and why if you have a specific reason; and by the way, I only play single player - no online):

Stalker - Shadow of Chernobyl

Quake 4

Quake Wars

Half-Life 2

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

Splinter Cell Double Agent

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition

Wow man, you a fan of the Splinter Cell series? Well i suggest SC: PT, because obviosly you have to go in a right order. That would be my choice. I just finnished the not so good PlayStation 2 version of Double Agent. It is good, but the 360 and PC ones have a better storyline, some unlockable stuff, and so on, Good Luck.

Graw 2 and Quake 4, you want to get the worst game out of your way first, then move up to some goodies.

Quake wars, you don't play MP and you bought that?

You only bought HL2? You didn't grab the orange box? Ah well I start with HL2 because it's a fun game and not too complicated and then play Deus Ex to up the complication and then lessen the rpg elements a little bit with STALKER and then go on to whatever Splinter Cell games you want to play.

A whole bundle of random games all at once, and no multiplayer. Define "bought"...

I don't know how many definitions of "bought" there are. Let's see, how about this definition - I work my arse off (50 - 70 hours a week), I make pretty damn good money, and I hadn't "bought" any games in a while, so, I "purchased" a few at Best Buy, a couple at Wal Mart, and some off of Ebay. Thanks for the implication that I didn't "buy" them you piece of ****

I downloaded the demo and really liked it, so I bought it. I have never even tried any online gaming.

Shadow of Chernoybl is a 'Winter' game for me, and I'm saving it until then. I can see maximum atmosphere playing this at high volume in a dark room during the coldest time of year.

If you got the pack that has Quake 2 with Quake 4, play 2 before 4, if you know what I mean.

Definitely Deus Ex and then Half Life 2 :D

Deus is a gaming classic, and will be known as one of the greatest RPG hybrids of all time. It's my favorite game, trailed closely by the Fallout series, but you should definitely give it a look. I replay it frequently, and the graphics aren't great anymore but the story and gameplay definitely withstood the test of time.

HL2 is also worth a play as soon as you get around to it. It's probably the best FPS ever made, and Episode 1 and 2 are also worth buying for the amazing continuation of the storyline.

Have fun!

A lot of people are saying start with HL2 and Deus Ex - with good reason, they're the best on the list, by far. But I'd say start with the worst, since you already own them. You'll enjoy a crappy game a lot more playing it than when it has the shadow of games like HL2 and Deus Ex looming over it. Start with Quake 4, then the SC series (play them in order, even though they get progressively worse), then S.T.A.L.K.E.R, then finally HL2 and Deus Ex - play Quake Wars at your discretion, it's a deathmatch game so it doesn't really compete with the other games in any real way.

Use GRAW 2 as a coaster and donate the box to a local charity store.

Really? I love the whole Ghost Recon franchise. Did you like the first Advanced Warfighter?

Purely because of the difficult switch going from a modern game to one as old as Deus Ex, I'd start with that one. It's absolutely a classic, and one that all PC gamers should experience. Simply an important evolution in gaming.

The others are all solid from there, but I'd wait to play Half-Life 2 until you can purchase Episode 1 and 2. It's great to line them all up and play them in a row.

If you're Single Player only, Quake Wars isn't for you. Still, it will probably be fun for you to pick it up for an hour or so and play a campaign against bots and no human opponents.
