I would say Far Cry 2....it is a mediocre game but I want to categorize it as a worst because the game built quite loads of hype before it was released. and when a game gets too much hype than it can handle, it leaves nothing but disappointments.

It wasn't THAT bad. I'm sure there are a lot worse games (ex. I know its not PC or MAC but look up the game NinjaBread Man for the Wii -- spoiler! it's #$%@ing awful!)

i honestly have to say one of the games out today is crysis and an older game is Age of Mythology. If you enjoy those games like Age of empires and u go to the mythology, you get disapointed with the gayness ;)

Too many to list..so i will say in recent times the games that didnt live up to the hype or my expectations would be mass effect,fallout 3,far cry 2,prototype and Empire Total War.

You know i really hate how ppl try to make the 'latest and greatest' games for everyone and it makes me mad because only tards play the crappy games that the guys either tried to hard and messed up on everything big time or just wanted money and got it because the fat guys out there play them (sadly i know a few of them) but if you were to see it how i see it then you would understand. Like they dont want a sequal to a game or dont think about it until they get their money back. Then all the sudden its like 'Hey lets make a new game, people will love it, they will enjoy a sequal, and we will get more money!' usually they get the money from us and we never return them but the game is crap. Lets take a game called Tony hawk skating. The first version i used to play online a few years back and it had the stuff we now call original. they come out with a second version of the game and not so many players are playing it online as the first one. The second one got rid of so much good stuff and gave u too little. But yeah you dont have to disagree with me or anything. i just felt like sayin this. (im venting rofl)

Empire total war

i couldnt stand far cry 2 personally, despite several attempts to get in to it.

it was mainly some extremely questionable gameplay mechanic / structure decisions that did it for me (respawning enemies, repetitive missions, tedious travel system, jamming weapons, no prone, hard to stealth, chased to the death by every enemy, non-sensical "warzone" etc).

just couldnt find anything to like about it

Also how can crysis and age of mythology be bad? I was playing AOM the other day actually.

The worst game I've ever played would be You Are Empty. Really, really bad game. So bad, in fact, that I still don't get why I got so far into it. Almost beat it when I came to my senses.

Mass Effect
All Final Fantasy games (haven't played those earlier than 6 but all those I've seen suck)
Dragon Age (isn't out yet but the previews and trailers are fknig embarassing)
Gears of War and its clones

What!? How can you say that, the only game I dislike on there is mass effect, but it's not a bad game, it just isn't my type. The rest are clasics! Also gears doesn't have clones, it has one sequel!

BTW- I couldnt put the other "S" in "clasic" as gamespot blocks it.

Pretty much any game that gets an 8 or higher on gamespot is disappointing and crumby...

That surely was one heck of a ****ty game.

I also agree on Prototype and Fallout 3. Maybe not the worst ever but very highly overrated, not to mention most people who gave them high votes looks like a bunch of mindless fan-sane illiterates (I don't speak flawless english since I learned it while playing Starcraft, but this is really too much >.>).

Why are you bashing ME so much, by the way? Surely it doesn't deliver so much on PC but I don't think it has to be classified under "worst game" category either.

I'm really surprised to see so many people saying Fallout 3 and Mass Effect are the worst games. i mean, come on, there are hundreds of games worse, even if you didn't like them.

I very rarely hate games, i just find some of them better than others. the only game i've ever come close to hating would be Bioshock, because of how overhyped it got. it was such a bad first person shooter, yet received so much love because of its story. i did't hate it though, i thought it was really overated, but i still didn't hate it.

oh wait, now i remember a game i hate with a passion, Halo 2. i mean jesus, what a load of crap, i cant beleive microsoft thought people would switch to vista just to play a terrible, generic first person shooter.

One of the worst games I ever played was War of the Worlds. The gameplay was not intuitive, the manual was useless in explaining how to play, and the two sides (human and alien) were horrendously unbalanced. Felt like a real rush job, honestly

edit: I thought of one tht might actually be worse. Messiah. It had great potential, and solid gameplay mechanics, but it wins the award for "released too early". I've yet to see a game top this one, actually. Aside from the plethora of horrendous bugs (my favorite being the one that made it impossible (no exaggeration) to complete the game), it was built to run on a version of DirectX (9 if memory serves) that hadn't been released to the public yet (talk about a bonehead move)! I had to track down and install the beta version just to get the game to sort of run.

yea I just re-installed AOM!!! Guy has no heart!
