A glance at my games pile shows me that FPS is by far my most played, but RPG has the potential to be my favourite. There are only two RPGs I actually like - Bloodlines and The Witcher - but they are both amazing, amazing games.
I play many more FPS games, though. And my top-10-etc-games-etc lists are mostly full of FPS games. I just wish there were more RPGs like Bloodlines and The Witcher.
Holy crap, the polls are working again! Hell yeah, baby! Time to bump my Monolith thread up, if it still exists.
Anyway, FPS.
[QUOTE="dayaccus007"]I think there are 10 thread's already with this subjectk_ozz

I enjoy all genres, but I put RPGs above all else.

I agree. There's something about building, leveling, and gearing up a toon that never gets old for me.

I feel exactly the same way tbh.
Heh, no surprise that FPS is the highest ranked.
I gotta go with Action / Adventure. Was brought up on PC Adventure games like King's Quest, Space Quest, etc. So that's stuck with me. But I enjoy a good FPS too, especially if it's got a really good storyline (Half-Life, Bioshock...)
Least favourite would probably be RTS. I just can't get into that... Drove my brother crazy cuz he always wanted to play Age of Empires with me, but I just wasn't going for it.
Adventure, but I voted RPG.
There just isn't a genre that's captured so much atmosphere and storytelling into each and every game. They're all of a very smart standard, and they're incredibly enjoyable.
Apart from that dying genre, the only genre that's really any similar is the RPG, which is usually of the same caliber in the script area. It's also usually got great depth (usually...) and is also, recently, a showcase of graphics. I really love the good ones, but I'm a bit over the standard and boring ones.
But, currently, absolutely RPG.
1) Wargames (I prefer tactical level and turn based, but I'll play anything. Real time, continuous time. WEGO, strategic level, operational level, grand tactical level, whatever)
2) simulations. I like WWII and WWI flight sims best. Naval sims are a close second. Don't really care for driving sims though.
