He means that if you bought it assembled already. Did you build it yourself? And can you check your Power Supply?

why it must be a 9800gt? You can go and look around find sure a gts250 for the same price like a 4850.

Try Crysis. It always does it in that game. The squealing usually happens when the fps is above 200, so which card is used is not important. My friend's 9600GT produces much less squealing than my 4890 btw.

Ya, the performance may be like 9800gtx, but to call them just a rebranded card is wrong since there are changes.

The HD4850 being faster is a plus but you'd miss out on the Physx technology when getting an Ati card. So get one of the Nvidia GTS 2** cards.Same as topic.

Lol...my fps in crysis, DX 9 all high on my laptop (9600m GT, 2,0 GHz 3mb L2 cache, 3GB ram, windows 7) is 18-22 :) And in really heavy scenes/ice and snow, it drops down to 12-15 :P[QUOTE="Slig0"][QUOTE="SinfulPotato"] My 4850 in my parents computer does not.A_9

The HD4850 being faster is a plus but you'd miss out on the Physx technology when getting an Ati card. So get one of the Nvidia GTS 2** cards. but ati cards has DX10.1 right and nvidia dont, right ?Tell me you didn't mention DX 10.1 (which no games to my memory even use) especially when we're in the age of DX11 coming up!! lol, you can't be serious. DX 10.1 should be ignored..it is definitely NOT a factor in the purchase of a card. I'd say DX11 is more of an factor. But if DX11 is a factor he should wait on an Nvidia DX11 card, that way he'd have DX11 and Physx (which both would compliment each other perfectly)why it must be a 9800gt? You can go and look around find sure a gts250 for the same price like a 4850.
Well we can tell you are a Fanboy. Did you know a GTS250 is pretty much a re named 9800GT/GTX? i bet you didn't know that. um no, its a rebadged 9800 gtx+, that uses less power and is an inch shorter. 9800gtx+ isnt a 9800gt/gtxWhat graphic card? Probably HD 4850? :O[QUOTE="A_9"][QUOTE="Slig0"]

Sorry, HD 4850 beats both 9600gt and 9800gt. And, shooting down a tree, a hole in a wall, that doesn't make the game much better. I would skip shooting down a tree for a ATI card that's both cheaper and better. For example: GTX 285 is as the same price-range as HD 5870, even though HD 5870 is even with the GTX 295. Maybe wait a month for the HD5870 to drop to a even lower price, but don't wait for a Nvidia release, that probably will be extremy overpriced.gamer082009

The Gts 250 is the same as a 9800GTX+ - - except - - it's a different size, has a different power architecture, uses less power, has better performance, and runs cooler.

Yep - sounds the same to me

The GTS 250 is practically a renamed 9800 GT? Or is it a renamed 9800 GTX? I get them all confused, since Nvidia likes to mix and match with the names.why it must be a 9800gt? You can go and look around find sure a gts250 for the same price like a 4850.

hi. about buying a new GPU.Any comment on sapphire 4850hd vapor X 1Gb? Others forum mentioned that this card gets hot easily. Any comment bout this? codename89I think the 4850 runs hot anyway. But I think the Vapor X models run slightly cooler compared to the stock ones.
