I'd have to say Nvidia even though I'm getting an ATi (my PSU sucks!)

Why is AMD on there?!
I would say that Nvidia currently has better cards in general with 8800gt, 9600gt.

AMD bought out ATi supposedly, so thats why it's on.
Pointless thread.Should be locked IMO.Spybot_9
No, this thread isn't COMPLETELY pointless, it can help people pick out good cards.
Intel chipset integrated graphics>all.
People don't like this question because they get all hot and bothered of ATI VS NVIDIA.

Ohhhh, okay.

No it can't. Only a recommendation based on the user's budget, available graphics slot, power supply, and preferred applications can dictate what card is good and what is bad.

well then just leave ati on ther and odnt put amd or put amd/ati duh
1. Nvidia and ATI dont manufacture cards
2. neither one is completely better than the other, they both have strengths and weaknesses. You should choose a card based on your personal prefrence.
3. AMD owns ATI so get rid of ATI on the list. "they all suck" is a useless option, they are the only two to choose from right now.
[QUOTE="hockeyruler12"]Nvidia>>>>>>>ATI
and thats a proven FACT

Funny, considering that both your consoles use a graphics card made by ATI.
Shh, they don't know consoles even have GPUs yet.
GRAPHIC CARD MANUFACTURER
manufacturers are Ati, Sapphire, BFG, Asus ... and many more, too lazy to find some more
Nvidia isn't even manufacturing their own cards, and ati's cards are extremely rare
all those 2 companies do is create the GPU (the processing unit that is inserted on the graphic card by an other companie)
They also make the reference board designs that most companies adhere to. Apart from the occasional overclocking or the switching out of cooling components, most board makers these days stick to the reference plans--especially when a chipset is new.GRAPHIC CARD MANUFACTURER

AMD and ATI are the same company, as in, AMD bought ATI a year or two back.
But in my personel opinion, I appreciate Nvidia based cards more. Now, in terms of manufactoring, like the actual companies who make the cards, like BFG, EVGA, XFX, Palit, Asus, I like the following:
XFX, cause their warrenty covers overclocking.
EVGA: Because of step up.
BFG; I've heard is sub par quality.
Palit;I know sometimes puts some nice after market coolers on theirs,
Asus; has a good brand running with their preoverclocked T.O.P. cards.
I just bought a 430 Watt PSU from Staples about 30 minutes ago, and I'm going to buy the Geforce 8600GTS on Saturday or Sunday.ragdollsrock012
Why?
intel... Actually its a fact that their onboard video cards are actually (better) then that of today's top notch video cards.. Though if you don't know what I mean I am talking about efficiency and technology... when intel becomes an independent video card manufacturer I believe amd and nvidia will need lots o help though they have always pulled through before...TrooperManaic
How do you feel about the recent smack talking between Nvidia and Intel regarding the important of the CPU over GPU and vice-versa?

I feel alittle pumped to see what the future may bring.. I want to see amd - Nvidia back together badly because that was the REAL gameing team... Now we have nvidia and intel, sure they brought us the 8 series but look at the 9 series.. its a joke- we need grean team FTW..[QUOTE="aveman1"][QUOTE="TrooperManaic"]intel... I guess intel will be just a spec in the GPU industry but only the future can tell. Why the hell would intel "fund" nvidia for the 8 series?Spybot_9why not they are joint company at the time they share funds and technology.
I don't want to be a dick to the OP, but this might be the worst thread I've ever stumbled upon in my entire life. The fact that AMD is on the list drives this home.
But I'd say in the higher-end Nvidia has the crown, granted the 3800 series are very good bang for your buck cards. But I will not vote in this poll.
Although I'm sure the OP is pretty new to PC hardware so we should be nice to him(or her, who am I kidding it has to be a guy)
Nvidia. Isn't AMD and ATI the same thing now basically?orazinac
More or less, seeing as AMD owns ATI, but I don't consider AMD a GPU develuper in any case.
depends on what price range, they all have great card, just depends on how much you wana pay. the 9600gt and 8800gt are both awesome cards and the 3850/70 is great too
btw amd/ati is the same thing
