Eye of the North is an actual expansion that requires Guild wars to play. Nightfall and Factions are stand-alone expansions meaning you don't need the original one to play. But either way i think you should get nightfall

I also think Nightfall because the addition of heroes is really great, and Nightfall has more heroes than Eye of the North and more skills to acquire.

i think there is a combo that has all guild wars games. If you have to pick one, pick eye of the north.

Eye of the north. While not adding new professions like the other expansions, it still allows you to have Heroes like in Nightfall and has more end-game content for PvE.

I believe in Eye of The North you need to have a level 20 character from one of the previous games? Correct me if I am wrong, but that's the main reason I have not bought it. My main is only level 17 and I don't know why but it seems like it takes a while to get to 20.

I believe there is a way to get in now below lvl 20.....I could be wrong, all my characters went in at lvl 20.

Eye of the North is my pick here also because it also paves the way for GW2 with the new races and Hall of Monument titles (which supposedly will get you extra things in GW2)

Get Nightfall, but if you are a fan of Guild wars, I suggest you play all the games.

Eye of the North is very hard in comparison to the other games in my opinion. I found it very hard to bot EoTN missions, factions I used bots for most of it. Nightfall I got a few hours in and got bored. Even though nightfall adds heroes I think factions is actually more interesting. Get Factions, it's a huge new game basically.

For Me, my favorite was the original, then Nightfall, then EOTN, then Factions. But you cant go wrong with any of them.

I'd suggest Nightfall or Eye of the North over Factions (probably recommending Nightfall the most), but even Factions is worth playing, given the Ritualist class and the really interesting continent to explore.

I'd recommend Nightfall as it has the most to offer out of the standalone expansions and seperate expansions. Heroes and skills etc.

If you like it then try and get the rest of the expansions it's worth it. Or you can sit around waiting for GW 2 :D . Mind you there are GW to GW2 incentives to get all the expansions and try to achieve as much as you can.

You can enter EoTN as early as 10 IIRC. Before I quit/uninstalled/lost my account, I used to make NF characters, get them to 10 (or whatever the lowest level was) enter EoTN, rush to dwarven boxing, and level up there. I know for a fact you can leave well before 20, as I remember them giving you a buff that gives you the health/energy of a level 20.

edit: proof

i want to save you from yourself here.. get nightfall if you see it its immensily hard to find (on the shelves anyway) standalone. eotn if one id also get before factions. factions is more an appetizer comapred to the other two.. doesnt really satisfy anyone all that much.
