For some reason i always think the Segate's are the best, but really there probably all the same.

Are you on a budget? Get the cheapest one. There isnt going to be a major difference in performance between any of those.

I didn't know there was a 500gb drive with only 8mb cache. everywhere I look a the 500gb segate drives they are all 16mb cache.

there is no 500gb 7200.10 seagate hdd on newegg with only 8mb cache, the only 500gb seagate drive on newegg with 8mb cache is a old super priced one.

Well then, look into the Seagate Barracude 750GBters. I got mine for around $230 and they are EXCELLENT.

The 7200.10 series from Seagate with a capacity over 250GB were never made with 8MB of cache. I believe the 7200.8 drives maybe have been, and I'm not sure about the 7200.9, but the 500GB 7200.10 SATA drives all come with 16MB of cache.
