I don't know for sure but I read in a magazine (Maximum PC or PC World don't remember) that the monitor actually uses less electricity in sleep mode than it does when turned off. Didn't make sense to me or the people writing the story but that's what the meter said. pcdebol
I would love to read about that. My guess is that it is equally as effective while turned off/slept but if you turned it off then you eventually turn it back on and that uses a lot of power, possibly.
