Not really to game related... but something thats been bugging me for awhile. Which is better to do, leave you're monitor on that like orange sleep mode thing, or to turn it off, once the computer is off? Seriously, people have told me its better to turn it off when you turn the pc off, others have told me the opposite, and let it goto that like semi-off orange button sleep mode thing. I only ask, because my monitor broke a few years back, and people told me it was due to one of these situations.

If you turn it off, it cools, thus lowering the change of it overheating and breaking.

I don't know for sure but I read in a magazine (Maximum PC or PC World don't remember) that the monitor actually uses less electricity in sleep mode than it does when turned off. Didn't make sense to me or the people writing the story but that's what the meter said.

I would love to read about that. My guess is that it is equally as effective while turned off/slept but if you turned it off then you eventually turn it back on and that uses a lot of power, possibly.

I imagine it doesn't really matter.

I do the sleep mode thing, thinking pretty much the same either way with the difference of 1 less button to bother with.
