well i used to play WoW and had a level 70 and im a F2P with LOTRO but cant get a gould idea of how it is in terms of depth since questlines stop at 30 and thus a lot f things are off limits for a F2P. But if LOTRO is more of a casual game then maybe i should go back to WoW since i have nothing to do with my pathetic life other than play video games lol
This, WoW's community was never good, but since Cataclysm the hardcore crowd and the casuals are at each others throat because of the design changes. PvP people are pissed, healers are pissed, casuals are pissed, hardcore are happy. Anyway, take a 10 minute browsing of the blue post since mid-January and marvel at the amount of bile and repressed anger spewing forth. Glad I quit in September.Lotro has a community that wont make you lose faith in humanity.

Lord of the Rings Online.
none, Guild Wars 2 :DPredatorRules
If this was out I would agree with you 100%. Well except for the fact that I would be playing the game for so long that it would be hard to enter the board and post that I agree.
Yeah I am not touching another MMO until GW2 comes out as long as two assumptions hold true. 1) They cut out all the shard crap and everyone from the same server can see each other. 2) ToR keeps looking more and more lame the more previews come out.SerOlmy
The 3 sellings points for me:
1)DPS/Tank/Healer is gone. My favorite class in an MMO to date is the Warden from LOTRO just because of how dynamic it is. Being pushed into a rigid role is NOT for me.
2)Quests are replaced with dynamic events. Don't have to search for dudes with "!" above their head and can just explore the world.
3)Leveling is quick. I forget where it was stated but the developers said it takes roughly the same time for each level.
honestly this is going to be a flame war regardless. My opinion though is this. LOTR Online is free to play and WoW is not. As you can see for the votes which ones are better.
There should be an option for DRAW.....they are very good, BOTH of them....I'm wondering cause i can't decide which to start paying for thx

LOTRO is less polished and offers far less content, especially in PVP. Despite that, it's free to a certain point so give it a try and see if you like it.shakmaster13Why do you say LOTRO is less polished...?

I was going to ask the same thing. Polish is quickly becoming my new least favorite buzzword (along with cinematic, immersion, streamlined).
Define polish.
I'm also wondering how LotRO has "far less" content too. Other than PvP I'd say as far as traditional MMORPG content (quests, crafting, rep. grinds, raids, etc.) the games are fairly similar but LotRO has housing, session play, and a fairly fleshed out music system that allows players create their own music. What does WoW have again?

WoW has the biggest money behind it and 6 years of polishing.
And they will keep polishing.

I've encountered more bugs in my time on WoW then I have with LOTRO. LOTRO is one of the most "polished" MMOs I have ever played.... and I'm keen to say the MOST "polished" one. Also, LOTRO has as much (if not more) content as WoW....[QUOTE="Ravenchrome"]NO MMO will be as polished as WoW. I never said Blizzard wasn't the king of polish... I just said that I encountered lots more bugs on WoW compared to LOTRO. WoW is Blizzard's least polished title in case you didn't know by the way (obviously cause it's a huge MMO) Also, have you played LOTRO? The content there is very well designed....WoW by a large margin. I played LOTRO on and off for a year and its just missing something...I cant place my finger on it but the LOTR world just didntlive up to the hype. I am a huge fan of the books and movies.WoW has a thriving community, tons of content and is SUPER polished (in MMO standards). There's a reason over 10 million people subscribe to it you know...and there is also a reason why LOTRO went Free to play.

LOTRO is earning more money with the new system than before you know?

So you didn't even try cataclysm yet you seem to know everything about it. Browsing MMO champion is not the same as playing it. Atleast you have to pay attention now.
In that case go back to WoW. It's the perfect game to waste your life :Pwell i used to play WoW and had a level 70 and im a F2P with LOTRO but cant get a gould idea of how it is in terms of depth since questlines stop at 30 and thus a lot f things are off limits for a F2P.
