I haven't played either but definitely rainbow six vegas lol.
Why is that? Because when I tried to run Double Agent on my computer it wouldn't even recognise a dx10 card. And then when it started up it just crashed. Those who have played it say it is very poorly optimised and buggy.
What are your system specifications my good sir?
Unless you're a diehard stealth fan, or unless you're a Rainbow Six purist and what's happened to the series makes you want to set fire to things, get Vegas. It's by far the better game as a whole, and the PC version is less buggy, better optimised and generally more fun.
R6V out of the two - i liked double agent (on 360) but R6V is still better.
And Ive heard the Pc version of double agent is very unreliable. I have R6V on PC and it runs like a dream. I have even turned on AA and AF through my Nvidia control panel so it looks great too and the FR doesnt suffer
I loved the first two SC-games. By the third game I started to feel that I was playing the same game for the third time, only with different settings. I installed Double Agent on my PC. Fist level, not bad, next level a little worse, then it started chugging all the time and crashed. I uninstalled it. Could not care less about the next game in this franchise.artur79
Have you read anything about it? It actually seems like a very interesting game, and a serious departure for the series. It all takes place in broad daylight, and you have to manipulate crowds of people and create diversions using the environment - sort of seems like a stealther version of the new Alone in the Dark mixed with a little Assassin's Creed. It's very unlike traditional stealth games, and it seems like it may be quite open-ended on how you overcome obstacles.
And about DA, Ubisoft had to work up seven - seven - different versions of the game for seven different systems. It's absolutely not excusable that the PC version turned out bad, but it is perhaps understandable. Conviction (SC5) is coming to just three machines, one of which is handheld. So things could be very different this time around.
Anyway, I'm not saying it'll be good or run well or anything, but it seems like it'll play very differently to all previous SC games (and just about most other games you can think of) and Ubisoft's development plan is far more in favour of the PC once again... and, well, I have low expectations, but it could be pretty awesome. I'm jaded after DA too, but Conviction really does seem pretty cool.
