Which is better: Rage or Dead Island?

What game is more impressive for PC? Both seem to have horrible consolitus issues.

Sounds like DI might be the better game overall but with no demo on either and no semi final patches for either yet its hard to tell...

Or wait for a $15 sale...?

Dead Island, to me, looks to have terrible gameplay and terrible gameplay decisions, first person melee... escort quests with terrible npc ai 'n such. The issues Rage is having is mostly just AMD, I'd avoid Rage 'til AMD's done fixing their drivers and it actually works (assuming you're on AMD). It would seem that Nvidia is pretty safe however, and the gameplay is great (imo, besides driving is just... eh, not so wonderful, the shooting though ♥ )

New drivers came out, works like a charm. So above is worthless (besides my opinion about DI/Rage)

Mostly played Dead island solo and its full of annoying bugs but still fun but its not really worth 50 i'd wait for a good special. Don't have Rage but seems to have alot of problems with graphics so i'd wait for that one also.

Always pays to wait. The games get more stable and much cheaper. Just got Portal 2 for 15 bucks that game was 50 not long ago.

im 9 hours into dead island and I love the game(id be further along if I havent bought so many new games). Im 2 hours into Rage and I think its ok, worth a buy but its just ok so far to me.

Rage is better in every aspect except coop/multiplayer imo.
Rage has better combat, better AI, better atmosphere, better graphics, better characters and better voice work... Dead Island has great coop thats really the only advantage it has over Rage imo.

Both did not have very good launches, but if I had to pick between one its definatly Rage, its the more unique experience imo, the gunplay just feels so right to me in Rage.

Both games have very generic and MEH stories.

That depends, if you like FPS games buy RAGE, if you like Zombie Survival Horror games then buy Dead Island

Cuz Rage is unplayable on my laptop due to constantly loading of graphic textures when turning.

Dead island, im finding Rage to be quite boring personally.

I would think Rage would get kind of boring due to it very much being similar to Boarderlands.

The combat is a million times better then Borderlands, same with the atmosphere imo.

Although Borderlands you can do the whole campaign together which I liked.

Yea, 2 hours after I posted that the new drivers came out. :lol: Works like a charm.

With the nvidia thing, don't they have a triple buffering setting? It's not DirectX, so the normal Vsync doesn't mean anything to it anyway. Seems to be a launch option to fix it, wonder if it works. "+r_swapInterval 1"

Dead island for me. With always nigth mod + romero zombies the game is amazing.

The first-person melee gameplay is actually quite visceral and fun - it felt like L4D's only better.
As for the couple of escort quests, the survivors you're escorting are pretty much unkillable. I never lost a single one, even when I wasn't around to defend them.

Anyway, I haven't played Rage so I can't compare, but Dead Island was a fun (and technically smooth) experience for me.

I finished Dead Island yesterday, i had a blast with this game.

Im playing Rage right now and love it too.

Dont listen to haters, watch gameplay videos and decide for yourself.

I haven't played Dead Island, so I'm being somewhat biased, but Im having a lot of fun with RAGE, so I'll go with that.

IMO ID did good job with RAGE. Note "good", not godly or perfect or beyond this world.

Meh. After some research, I'm not buying either till they are way cheap.

I will not support broken or halfassed features for full price.

Coming from a guy who owns both, Dead island. The graphics The gameplay the atmosphire just amazing!
