I am looking at this one.

I know that seems a silly question but I was just curious on opinions...

Another reason I ask is because it only requires one 6-pin connector. Mine requires two. Less power consumption equals less quality? I dunno...

The GTX 650 ti boost is a better card (when it came out I read 3 straight reviews in which it stated that its basically an ati 7850 in terms of performance). If you have a little more cash than a GTX 660 OC is a better option http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127699 (its only $5 more than the 650 boost when you factor in rebate).

EDIT: I just read that you actually own the 6870. The difference between it and the 650 ti boost isn't huge (15-25% depending on the game). Given that I would for sure pay a little extra and the the GTX 660 (the 6870 isn't even that bad of a card so you might want to aim bigger in terms of budget). A GTX 660 will be about 30-35% faster and offer better options at higher resolutions (weither thats worth the money is up to you).

Yeah, I was wondering the exact same thing. Not sure if its worth the upgrade. Any other suggestions if I can't go any higher in price?

I meant to say can't, lol.

Basically you have three options.

1. Keep your card and wait

2. Get the 7870 Tahiti (cost is $250, $230 after rebate). Its faster than the 660 (it should be about 35-40% faster than the 6870).

3. Get a 7950 boost or the GTX 760 TI (the 760 comes out in a few weeks). The 7950 is $280-300 and the 760 should be around the same price (both card are about 45-60% faster depending on the game).

I would do it if I were you and had $170 to throw around. The difference will be appreciable (but not huge). You want to game better, and this way you will. You can't render graphics with money, you have to spend it to do that.

Its a substantial upgrade especially when you factor in the 2GB ram. But as others said in order to get a more appreciable upgrade you should spend a bit more money.

I agree with everyone else, save a bit more money and go for a GTX670 or a HD7950. I'd also recommend waiting a few more weeks, because nVidia is launching the GTX7000 series in late May. That means that older GPUs are lowering their price, or you can look into the new 7000s and see if they fit your budget.

As others have said, your best option is to wait.

Why did you go for reference cooler.... Should have got an Asus or MSI with dual fans - cooler and quieter.
