Those two use different chipsets, are you making an entire build all because of a broken motherboard? I'd go with the cheaper one and save myself nearly $100, plus you can use the latest Sandybridge chips in it which is already an advantage over the Sabertooth unless you plan on using SLI which I don't think the cheaper one supports(same one i have).

First, what CPU do you have(or are planning to get)?

P8Z68 is an Intel motherboard for 1155 CPU socket, while Sabertooth is AMD board, with AM3+ socket...

Also,were two threads really necessary?

Hmm, I wonder why your mobo is messed up :P. The 1st link is for an Intel board, the 2nd is for an AMD one. But yea, in terms of quality the Sabertooth is better.

No, you need an Intel 1055 board, with Z77, Z68 or P67 chipset. And you need more than 300W for GTX 460!

Your PC has an Intel I7-3770 CPU,so no,that Sabertooth is NOT compatible with an Intel CPU.P8Z68 would work fine, though, but I would recommend going for a Z77 chipset, instead of Z68,if possible...

EDIT:Here's a good board you could use:

Yes,it would, but take a look at the link I posted. It's somewhat cheaper, and would fit your needs perfectly fine,i'm sure of that...

You're running a 460 on a 300W power supply? Yeah, I wonder why your motherboard broke...

It's no problem, but could you tell what happened to your last motherboard?

If it died,it could've been related to your 300W Power Supply, which isn't enough for your GTX 460.You should really look into upgrading that, since a weak PSU can create huge problems, especially if it isn't a good brand. In worst case scenario,it can even fry your entire PC!

Forget the p67, z68, if you have an ivybridge you need a bios update to startup and pcie 3 shuts off the second lane if that matters to op.

Yes def. get a better powersupply, a prebuilt sold with a 300w is probably shoddy quality anyway. A decent 500+w is pretty cheap nowadays.

I'd say go for asrock extreme 4 z77.

the cheaper one. the other one is marketed to gamers, which means it is overpriced by 15%.

its just a fact. because ignorant first time pc builders not sure what to buy will always buy the "gamer" "extreme" "wildcat" "sabretooth" branding as they feel more safe with it. this means they can be exploited, and they are. the other thing is making them black to look more cool.

Nothing wrong with buying some solid gear for your first build. But given the rest of OP's system, yeah, he shouldn't be putting an enthusiast motherboard in there.
