I have small girl hands. They are 17cm/6.8 inches from bottom of hand to tip of middle finger. My middle finger is about 7.5cm. I use a palm grip. The two mice I was thinking about getting was either the Razer Deathadder or Logitech MX518. People say that the MX518 is for big hands, and for the Deathadder, some people are saying it's bad for small hands, and others are saying it's fine. What other mice are good for small hands around $50?

I used the MX518 for 3 years now and its been great. It's a palm grip and I acutally just upgraded today to a G500 which is the same style, but with another thumb button, DPI that can be changed and weights. My hands are by no means big, but are not tiny. I think you'd probably be fine with logitech, the thumb buttons might be a little troublesome in intense gaming situations, but you'd get used to it. The nice thing is though Best Buy, Microcenter and I'm sure Fry's usually have a G500 out to test the grip. I'd try that if you have one of those stores near you and if you like the G500 you'll like the MX518. Another smaller option is the G9x which is more of a claw grip, but for small hands could be perfect.

On another note i personally look at Logitech and Microsoft for my mice and keyboards. i've just had the best luck with both of them, from super cheap to more expensive.

Im loving using my mx518, ive been using it since april. My gaming has improved quite abit by using this mouse. I do have quite big hands though. The mx518 is the best budget mouse out there. If money isnt really an object then razer is your best bet.

This and Amazon are doing a nice deal on this mouse, if your from UK it's only £17.99.

Yeah I really really really don't trust Razer brand. They get great reviews but they ALWAYS break on me and my friends. I'm officially done with that company.

salmosa: scroll wheel squeak, plastic was peeling off mouse

abyssus: had 2 of them. both of their scroll wheels would skip after a few months. by that i mean, every now and then 1 notch would register as 2 notches.

using a logitech G9x now. i like it a lot except for the terrible middle mouse button. too hard to press.

MX518's a truly great mouse, but yeah you might find it on the chunky side. Personally, I'd suggest the MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0. It's cheap, fast and functional. It doesn't have a ridiculously high DPI, but for the majority of games that's no drawback, unless you enjoy playing at crazy high sensitivity. Not sure if it means anything to you, but the MS IE s still the post popular mouse series amongst pro Quake players.

I recommend the mx518 as well. I've been using it for a long time and it has been perfect. It's also priced well too.

I've had the MX518 (and MX700 - identical but wireless) for the last 6 years and they have been excellent. The fact that the MX518 is still around and selling well is a testament to how good it is and how highly rated it is amongst gamers. There are now better mice available, with higher resolutions and more features in their software, but these all have higher price tags. If you aren't looking to spend much money and want a very good mouse the MX518 is a very good choice.
