Warcraft III by far. You have the main game and than all of the custom games for free. The replay value is insane. No way Mafia over this. Also each game up there is phenomenal. Indigo Prophecy is a great game as well, but no way it dethrones Civ 4.

Wow, no one picked CivIV. I guess not that many people have played the game then, because that was by far the most deserving of the title.(Second being COH)
I would have to say warcraft 3 most deserving of those listed. Company of heroes comes in second by default though, I don't remember too many good games from 06 that were even worthy.

Far Cry's bad mulitplayer and the shortness of Max Payne 2 (no real replayability) didn't strike me as GOTY worthy games BUT that doesn't mean I think they totally rock (cause they do :D )Â

civ 4 won it in a weak year, and coh, while great, would not have won it with better competition. civ 4 deserved it though; it would have competed well in other years as well. wow is certainly deserving, but hl2 came out the same year; my vote (as well as many others' ) would have gone to hl2 instead of wow. 2004 was a banner year; so many great games, only one award, but hl2 should have gotten it. stupid gamespot... a 9.2? wtf?
