- HP

- Core 2 Duo 1.5 Ghz

- 2 gig of ram

- Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and 384MB of shared video memory

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834210003

- ZT

-Core 2 duo 1.8 GHZ

- 1 gig of ram

- NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G Dedicated 256MB

i plan to do some casual gaming (probably counter strike source and battlefield 2 at the most), but i cant decide which one to choose. if i want gaming, i should go for the second one, but it's from ZT, a company that i never even heard of, so i don't know how reliable it is. also, other than graphics card and the processor, the first one seems to be better than the second one. can you guys please help me choose? thank you for your time:)

Computer 2. Discrete graphics is waaaaaaay better than integrated. Plus it's got a faster cpu.

Better yet, go to HP.com and custom build one. Spend 1000 bucks and you get 200 off instantly. I ordered one (that will be here Tuesday with the following specs for $950 USD tax included and free shipping:

- HP Pavilion dv2500t notebook
- Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
- 14.1" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
- 1GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
- 64MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
- HP Imprint Finish (Radiance) + Webcam + Microphone
- Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
- 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
- FREE Upgrade to LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support!!
- No TV Tuner w/remote control
- 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

I wanted one that was portable and could play a few games (source, etc), and this was what I decided upon (After weeks of research). I have 2GB of ram already so that wasn't an issue :) (only 60 bucks to upgrade anyway). I recommend HP.com or Dell.com when it comes to middle-tier notebooks. The 8400M G is not as good as an 8400M GS btw, regardless of the amount of dedicated memory ( You can just allocate a bit from the system mem to balance it out anyway :D)

I also considered this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220195 but I decided that I wanted mobility over game performance. Also, I didn't want a turion cpu (runs hotter, slower, and is less efficient than the new C2Ds :()

It was a coupon code but it looks like it expired :( No worries, though, they have deals like that pretty frequently. Check out this link http://www.xpbargains.com/st_deals.php/HP_coupons.htm to see coupons from HP and other businesses.
