I dont remember remember much of 1 actually. but 2 is awesome. i was replaying it b4 fallout 3 came out. Tactics i thought was great to, even if it kinda strayed from the series, it was still a good combat game.
I liked Fallout 2 better (at least after they got it patched to fix the bugs that prevented you from finishing, corrupted your safe game and caused you to permanently loose the car). Once fixed, I loved that it was bigger than F1, there was more to do, more to try and more to mess around with.. that and I thought the New Las Vegas was one of the best areas / zones in any RPG I've ever tried. There was sooo much going on and so many ways of doing things.
Fallout 1 is loads funnier and the the story is more cohesive. Fallout 2 the gameplay mechanics are more fleshed out and there is more stuff to do. You choose what is more important to you.
