Go with the AMD you will be able to overclock VERY well with that mother board. You are missing a vital piece of kit... a cooler, stock heat sinks are weak as **** To be honest you don't really need a sound card, that motherboard will provide HD sound just fine. umm you will DEFINITELY need a better power supply... you should get a 600w minimum to go with that system.

Both are great but i would choose that AMD "dragon platform" over the intel anyday :P

The 1st PC with the I7 920 is the best one. But i would change a few things... I would remove the 7.1 soundcard and save $90, the sound card built into the MOBO will be more than good enough for your 2.1 speakers........ I would also swap the ATI 4890 with this GTX275 as it is arguably the better card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127429. If you want to save a little money you could get a GTX260 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121316 Don't listen to the other poster either he doesn't have a clue...... You get all the cooling you need with the CPU (heatsinks and fan) and with the case you have purchased. Your PSU will easily power your PC as well, but it won't hurt if you upgrade it to a 600w. EDIT: damn links went wrong.

If you are only looking for gaming performance, they both perform quite similar (the i7 beating by a little); but if you want to save money, go for the AMD build. Your power supply is also cutting it really close so I don't know if you can run it or not effectively.

You clearly dont have a clue... 1. The PSU will easily power the PC? What the hell are you talking about?! a 520w will strougle with that system - fact 2. the 4890 is about equal to the 275 3. my buddy has a 920 @ 2.66 and the stock heat sink didn't cool well at all He had to change it two weeks after because temps were getting higher. 4. I did not say one was better than the other i said that I would choose the AMD over the Intel

The mobo sound will be fine, the speakers look good. ;)

Do you plan to overclock your CPU?

Ye true, if your not going to overclock then dont bother buying a new cooler... just keep your eye on the CPU temps (But i dont think you will have any problems, i think my friend just got a bad heat sink).

Are you going for the Iintel or AMD?

Its not necessarily that the speakers are bad, its that a $90 sound card is a bit overkill for 2-speaker stereo sound. Onboard sound has improved significantly. I'm no audiophile, but I'm perfectly happy with my 4.1 speaker setup using onboard sound.

alright and i think the case should handle it all pretty well..its got temp monitors and stuff so i should be good.. and im leaning towards the AMD right now since u guys all said it was basically just as good while having a lower cost..im on a budget so cheaper is deff better

Sorry to burst the Fo3 fan bubble. First 4890 in my opinion is better then the 275 because A. it is cheaper B. easier to screw with the clocks Now IN THIS CASE the i7 is the better choice... It is superior to the design of the Phenom 2's. Though I think AMD will catch up eventually. You defiantly want an after market cooler though so Drop the sound card especially because you really don't need one anyway lol. Unless you are doing heavy audio stuff your onboard should last you.
