Which PC Halo is better?

So I was considering getting one of the Halo games for PC (I don't have an xbox) and my system can run both. I'm just wondering which one is better. All the comparisons I can find are for the Xbox ( where Halo 2 is obviously superior due to online) and I wanted to know which is an overall better game for PC. I don't care about graphics for the record.

Halo 1 for the PC also has online Play( its more active then Halo 2 PC from what I heard.)

Halo 1 has a decent single player campaign which is mostly non-linear and open

Halo 2 contines the story from the first game. The campaign is much more linear now and I think shorter as well.

halo 2 is the more fun IMO. id get both they are so cheap.

I played most of the first and it is decent up to the point when you meet a new enemy to say the least (and not spoil anything)

I have halo 2 also, just never played it. Kinda wanted to finish the first beforehand (but stopped due to the already mentioned enemy)

I love when you meet the new enemy whole bunch of killing.

halo ce has maps only for the pc. It doesn't however have co-op I think. I think it can work from xp to vista

Halo 2 doesn't have co op either, has new mpas I think map editor, will not support xp(legally atleast) and there is no way I cank think of that it supports windows 7.

Halo 2 for the PC is a superior polish port than Halo CE, but overall, Halo CE is a better game, though both games are still fantastic.

Halo ce, its the only halo with a good single player and all the muliplayer is almost the same.
