I have always used the OCZ gameXtreme PSU's, I have the GameXtreme 850 watt and I am getting the 4870X2 in the next few weeks and I am very confident It will handle it no problem.Predator123
Given the high ripple and low reliability of OCZ's GameXStream and StealthXStream units I wouldn't recommend them.
To the original poster, something like the Corsair TX650 would be just fine, although it might be a little low for Crossfire.

so what would you recomend for crossfire?
The 4870x2 eats over 450 watts on full load... sooooo.. a 750 at minimum I would start to look higher here though. And the GameXstream is no good???? I'm not a PSU expert fill me in here??Predator123
What no. I think you mean it consumes as whole system not the card itself. Corsair TX650w is plenty for a single 4870x2

Not even close. The HD4870X2 isn't electrically capable of drawing more than 300w, and it doesn't even come all that close to that number. Probably around 220w max.

I don't know why people are saying that the Gamexstream is no good. I have one and it works flawlessly.
There Also PC&cooling 750wats silencer it supposes to be good. im as well buying a psu for my 4870x2
Cheer!
I think with water-cooling and second hard drive + in future it can get to 720wats. ( A Full set of video card
so im was wondering if it good in future proof therm to use ur psu 95% Of is capacity over a HX1000 WATS
at 70$ more expensiveness then the 750 WATS. from PC&cooling i'm not specialist with power-supply
Rayvinazn know more then you do. probably and i do.
I learned quite few thing in union about them im not clueless about one. tough
just can't predict if newest video card = less consummation the best set then 750wats. or higher > then 680 wats + hard Drive raid 0 / And other stuff you plug in that make the watts higher.
take example 3 280GTX = 750WATS but is 45nm shrink may lower is WATS Required a little and is cost productivity
if a 750WATS. that will get maybe in 3.8/4 half of time 95% used. is well enough from pc&cool Silencer 750WATS instead for 150$ (tax include)
compare to 220$ then id sure get it

Who said they were no good? They are probably better than most, but for the money you can get better. Here is Johnny Guru's review for the 700w Gamexstream, the bad he listed as "Ripple that exceeds tolerances documented in the ATX specifications"
Just because something works fine, does not mean it is good. I am sure there are quite a few people running Apevia PSU's just fine, but I would NEVER recommend them.

I suppose you've already checked it for ripple under heavy loads and had a look at all the soldering points on the PCB, as well as double-checking all the rails individually?
Just because something works doesn't mean it works well (especially since your rig won't even pull over 350w). I've seen close to a dozen people who have failed GameXStream and StealthXStream after around a year. Not an alarming number, but considering the fact that you can get a Corsair power supply for around the same price (none of which I have ever seen go bad, and only two or three DOA units), why take the risk?
