You are between a hard place and a rock, the PC doesnt get many good RPGs to be honest, i love them, but they are really moving to platform games.
But to the topic at hand, i would have to say out the list you have given titan quest is probably the best, but off the list there are some great ones, any of the final fantasy's are good [yes im a die hard ^^], Stalker is great love it to death, Fable was good and lastly Divine Divinity.
[QUOTE="khaine_of_eldar"]the PC doesnt get many good RPGs to be honestjedinatThis is a very ignorant statement.
Irrelavant of my attitude, you will find for every one RPG on PC, there are 4 or 5 on console, developers are finding there is more money in console than PC nowdays they will export it to PC if it is sells big, which is sad.

I don't think you know what you're talking about :| If you're talking about JRPGs they rarely come to PC.Irrelavant of my attitude, you will find for every one RPG on PC, there are 4 or 5 on console, developers are finding there is more money in console than PC nowdays they will export it to PC if it is sells big, which is sad. There are what 6 or so RPGs on the PS3? And about 10-15 total on the 360? (half of which are also/better on PC)khaine_of_eldar

While they still make PS2 Games you must include their library, i know nothing of Nintendo, and i wish they would stop altogether

Ya but the PS2 just has JRPGs. These are completely different than PC RPGs. So I don't see your point. Are you lot crazy! Does anyone remember Knights of the old Republic , or Eldar Scrolls , Fallout 3!! I agree that the whitcher is good but come on seriously the only format for RPG's is PC with the large modding community and great Keyboard mouse combo not to mention the hardware! MORE RPG'S ON CONSOLE:evil: lol
Man makes a good point...get the Witcher its a lot better then those 3 games. The Witcher

NWN 2 is decent but has a few big glitches, you would need to download patches. Baldurs Gate 2 is old and boring, there are games far better then that now. Titan Quest was a big success but I don't know why because I never played it, but yeh you could get that or Diablo 2.
I would say go for the Witcher, but if not go for Titan Quest of Diblo 2.
Baldur's Gate 2 is the best fantasy RPG, probably ever. Oh and to the recommendation of The Witcher, I don't see why everyone likes that game so much; it seemed decent, but not superb or anything. Maybe it's because it ran like ass on my computer, but the combat was too Diablo-esque for me and very little stood out as particularly good. I never finished it, so maybe it got better or something, but after all it's hype I was quite disappointed.

Yes, but now you are grouping different platforms together just because they are consoles. Why stop with the NES, lets go back to the Intellivision and the Atrari 2600 and count those games too. The PC has the most RPGs of any single console by far.You talk of how dearth good rpgs are on the PC and then went on to mention that out of the list the OP stated, that Titan Quest is the best. Over BG2? in terms of RPG? lol, get out of here console fanboi. You are between a hard place and a rock, the PC doesnt get many good RPGs to be honest, i love them, but they are really moving to platform games.

Titan Quest + Immortal Throne is an excellent hack and slash game...probably the best one since Diablo II. Plus it'sonly $20 for both. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a Diablo-like game.
If traditional RPG's is your thing, like already recommended The Witcher is very good, though I stopped playing it due to the boring and repetitive combat (feels like some quick time event button click game). NWN2 is a pretty good choice. It's pretty linear though and the story/characters aren't that great but I feel it's worth a play.
Honestly it depends on what your looking for...especially with TQ and The Witcher/NWN2...those games are fundamentally different. If you want a traditional RPG with a deep story and choices, The Witcher is probably your best bet, if you want a hack and slash with TONS of items, chracter builds, and monsters to kill Titan Quest is your pick.

Kids...
BG2 is king of that list, including Witcher
[QUOTE="stike22"]Diablo and Baldurs are pretty much the same thing, both were highly overrated but they were good games. They are both hack n slash type RPGs and both pretty dead now, still I would say Diablo is better, at least it has a decent level up system. fkholmesIt doesn't sound like you have played Baldur's Gate if you think it is hack and slash, it has a good level up system, quite complex for an inexperienced RPG player. Definitely not overrated though. I feel that Diablo is arguably overrated, but still had a large impact on gaming. The Witcher is certainly not deeper though, that is not to say it's shallow though, it even feels somewhat convoluted to me. The attack system was not the only problem I had with it. I found much of the game to feel like it was kind of jumbled. The camera was terrible, and I seemed to have a unique problem in that whenever Geralt walked over a bump on the terrain the camera would violently jump up, this occured every few steps and would get worse for the longer I played it. F3, Oblivion and Morrowind are all excellent. Though I don't think they're as good as Fallout 1 & 2 though. I have Baldurs Gate 2 and all expansions in my room and I am looking at them right now, they seriously got dull for me...I really don't like the level up system, I much prefer NWN to Baldurs, I tried playing it again last year and as soon as I got out of the beginning bit (can't remember what its called) I pretty much just couldn't be bothered to play it. Prehaps its just me. Actually Throne of Baal was probably my favorite...when you actually play through whole game for the first time its brilliant but afterwards I just couldn't be bothered with it. As for Witcher I understand what you mean about it being jumbled, when it first came out it needed some serious patch work, I had the same problem with the camera as well but I changed the settings and it was alright. If you get into it the game though it can be brilliant. I would love if some company would make another Fallout like the old ones, I love all of Bethesda's work but I would also love to see the same style as Fallout 1 & 2 again.
BG2 is my fav game of all time.....guess which I choose.

More like, PC has by far the best RPG's.
The last console with a good, steady RPG lineup was the freaking SNES.
I recommend The Witcher, Mass Effect, Drakensang: The Dark Eye, King's Bounty: The Legend and Eschalon: Book I. Those are te best cRPGsreleased on a past few years.
RyuRanVII
I'd recommend The Witcher, Mass Effect or Drakensang: The Dark Eye, as well. With regards to Drakensang; it is flying below the radar in the USA, which is a shame because it is a surprisingly good cRPG game.
