My Sunfire True Sub Mk1's box finally decided to start falling apart (air leaks galore) so it's not usuable. Until I can potentially replace it. I was looking for a cheaper sub to fill in the bottom.

Mains: Polk Tsi 300's

Reciever: Denon AVR-1612

Roughly $150 max as money is a little tight. It's come down between the Dayton Audio Sub-1200 or the Velodyne VX-11. Just trying to get a few opinions before I decide and buy. I get the feeling the Velo will be a little tighter, more musical, where the Dayton will go lower/louder. That being said the room isn't big, but nor is it small. I'd say 15x15 and opens up. I've heard good things about both considering the cost.

Personally I'd go with the Dayton. It's a better value with a larger cone, slightly more power, and a bigger cabinet. You'll get more low-end extension, as a result. This doesn't mean it's a better sub; it's possible the Velodyne is smoother, more accurate, etc. It's just my preference based on the specs. Good luck, Boz
