Starcraft has equally balanced teams.
CoH has teams with slightly different units for each team, and also a more complex rock>scissors>paper mechanic to it.
CoH also makes much more use of the terrain, and super powers. Basically even if you decided to infantry rush a single Mg squad could cause 60 riflemen to sit there pinned ubder fire. In Starcraft they'd just charge at each other, so you have to stop and think about what bthey might have and make sure you have something to counter that etc.
You still do that in Starcraft (air>ground, ground>air, ground>ground tactics) but really that's it. In CoH you have super powers>all, infantry>infantry, anti-vehicle, vehicle, vehicle>infantry, sniper>infantry, sniper>sniper, sniper>Mg, Mg>infantry, vehicle>mg (unless you use armour peircing), infantry (with grenades/sticky bombs)>vehicles etc
Then you have artillery and some defensive structures, mines, etc
(Vehicles includes tanks and light vehicles)
That's my take on it at least, I never played Starcraft as in-depth as others.
