First off, thanks for helping me build my earlier rig. I managed to buy an FX 4100, the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P Motherboard and G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 4 GB (Special thanks to Spittis!).

The mobo came with an AMD 760G and it's giving me an average of 28 FPS on Batman Arkham Asylum with textures set to Very High @ 800X600 (monitor's native res is only 1280X720) and with Bloom and Spherical Harmonic Lighting turned on. The components are doing a great job so far. I was thinking of upgrading the GPU to something like the 7770 which costs 10k Rupees here (similar price to the 6850). I then came across =off&autosuggest[as-submittype]=entered&autosuggest[as-grouprank]=0&autosuggest[as-overallrank]=0&Search=%C2%A0&_r=7%2BYCRG9KoMdq5LgipKnNfA--&_l=1APs%2BjTz_sbW68D3uBQ5Zg--&ref=3e528180-eeeb-4b6f-961c-28b7cf73cc3f&selmitem=]this so I'm really confused. The GTX 550Ti is in the 7k-10k range and the Tom's Hardware GPU Hierarchy Chart puts the 7770 and the GTX 550 Ti in the same tier. What should I do? The AMD 760G is doing an okay job so far but I know it won't be able to handle the monsters out there like The Witcher 2 and Crysis so I have to upgrade.

Nvidia GTX 550 Ti has PhysX which is really awesome but the downside to that is the power consumption is generally higher than the AMD cards so I'll be forced to upgrade my PSU (another 3-4k there). The 7770 is power efficient and should be enough for gaming at 1280x720 but the downside is that it doesn't have PhysX.

Which card should I get? Which one will help the system to game 5 years from now at around medium settings at 1280x720? Which one will be lesser of a demon on the electricity bills?

7770 is a BEAST the gtx 550ti is an enigma.. nobody knows why they still charge the price they do for it ESPECIALLY when their are much cheaper alternatives (at leats in n. america) like the hd 7750 that curb stomp it.

if your curious in metro 2033 on high @ 1440 x 900 with a 7750 expect about 38fps avg

7770 is better than a 550, so go for it.

Damn, that's awesome! PhysX makes games look that much more lively but I've read that it cripples the frame rate. Is it really worth the trouble of having?
