Was thinking of pre-ordering bf3 through Gamestop's digital download service, and possibly other games as well. But didn't find any reviews for it, just don't want to buy if its like Origin.

So has anyone used it before?

You'll activate it on Origin anyway, it's like Steam, it's irrelevant how good GameStop's service is when you'' activate the key on Origin, only got one game on impulse since they bought it and I had no problem with it, certainly worse than Origin, since Origin is just "press download", then play, no use for a new app for no reason.

I have. It ****ing sucks. For one, Impulse as it is called, is not required to launch a game, but it gives you the impression that it needs to. Uninstall it. Secondly, the Do speed is slow. Third, sometimes games you purchase don't show up until the next day. Or several hours later. The support is non existent. They handle issues through forum "tickets"...

Is there a certain reason why you want to use impulse over steam or origin?

Impulse actually gave me faster download times than steam when I bought all of the Sins of a Solar Empire games. That was before gamestop bought it though.

I've used Impulse a number of times prior to Gamestop's acquisition of the service, and experienced none of the issues mentioned above. Games were instantly available and I downloaded them at max speeds. But who knows what could've changed since then.

To me personally Impulse has been my 2nd best experience with Digital Downloads (next to steam of course).

From what I've read on their forums... pre Gs was much better. I only used it recently.

I had no issues with impulse. Downloaded Episodes from Liberty City without an issue. It was $5 too.
