Of course. I haven't played a steam game for a bit, but I use it. One of the best game-related services currently going.
Ya, I use steam only because Valve games make you use it. When I have the option I prefer to buy my games in store.concord9

Wish every game was on Steam.

Oh, man, that'd be awesome. Hopefully Gabe's ambitions in that respect come to fruition.
acctuly never did but i dont know about signing up because some accounts got hacked and i heard you dont take any space on your computer is that true?Crazycat542
Accounts get hacked because people aren't "smart" or because of malware, spyware or viruses (that are still cause by the users) :| and it takes space, how else could you run the games?
Steam just gets your games online, so it takes as much space as the regular game and if you don't "share" your account details with others or other "smart" things like that, you will never have problems with Steam. Oh yeah, don't hack or cheat because you will be banned from VAC servers (most of the existing servers).
I love steam. Not sure why it always gets bad rep, but I've never had troubles with it. en-z-io
It gets a bad rep because the people that don't like it (God knows why) are the loudest. It's the old squeeky wheel and grease thing. I just moved my Steam acct to my new computer today and it was easier then I thought it would be. Having a broadband connection helps.
Steam is great if you use it frequently... like I do. If, however, you only use it ocassionally I can understand how it can be a nuisance only for a couple games... but overall I simply love steam and get about 75% of my PC games from steam... and only don't when they don't offer the game.
The new community tools work great... and steam cloud sounds extremely promisiing. All they need to do is just keep improving their game library and I will definitely be a satisfied customer.

i don't have atelevision i have many!!
and on topic: i play HL2: DM time to time.
I have used it for several years and find it to be a very good service and have never had any problems with it. I've always preferred to purchase the hard copy of games (still do) because I love to keep a physical library of all my titles. Though I have purchased a few downloads of Steam, the last being Bioshock for 14.99. I do have the hard copy of that game, but it's defective and was planning on getting another one to replace it. When I saw the offer on Steam I felt it was to good a deal to pass up. It downloaded and installed really easy...i was very satisfied and impressed.
Whether you use Steam a lot or sparingly, the service is well worth it ! .......8)
