I am highly considering buying this game. The game seems to be getting favourable reviews, which is very positive. Loved playing the original, I like continuing to support Capcom and there magnificent PC efforts.

Man, I really do want to get it. The only problem is also one of the biggest ones I have with the series. I bought the first DR for Xbox, have only beaten the first boss before I stopped playing. I hate the time limit and time schedules for missions. When I want to zombie kill, I have to go do a mission. When I feel ready for a mission, you have to stay in the area or risk getting carried away and just massacring everything in sight and end up missing the mission deadline (trust me, it's a problem for me).
I personally don't think open world fun sandbox and time limits should ever go together.
But all the videos and screens of DR2 look so amazing. And it has co-op! I think I'll pick it up when it goes down in price, but I definitely want to play it.
You don't have to do the missions you know, you can just kill a bunch of stuff than start over and keep all your stats.Man, I really do want to get it. Is this the thing the GS review was talking about? And then we get a different ending? Because if that's the case I might actually really like that xP.
And for co-op, is this full-length? Or just in parts? I saw in the review you can get help on bosses and what have you.
Yeah it has a story or it wouldn't have a time limit and I am getting first day the time limit thing seemed like a turn off but after watching the review I am sold.
[QUOTE="Iantheone"]Ive owned it for the past 2 weeks already -.--CheeseEater-But the game's not out.. You could buy it off of Steam from about a month ago. I thought the release date was closer, but it wasn't. So every time I open Steam I see it there, so close yet I still cant play it.
i really enjoy killing zombies and was looking forward to this but the main things holding me back from buying it after seeing the reviews is that it seems very un-challenging and it also seems too much comedy and not enough horror for my taste. i do like that it's the old-school zombie type but, in all in-game footage i've seen, they just seem to stand around mostly, waiting their turn to get killed in some ridiculous way, hardly posing any threat and not requiring any skill. the main focus of the game seems to be to find new entertaining ways to kill all of them, and even though there seem to be many, they will run out sooner or later. therefor i think it won't take me very long to get bored with it.. it's still on my list though, will most likely pick it up at some point but for the meantime l4d will satisfy my zombie killing needs.
Thats what it looks like, but it really isnt. Judging from the first one, they are really easy to kill, but by the end of the game there are soooo many of them that there is no way to carry enough weapons to kill them all, let alone get through the crowd. The zombies are based off of the old style reanimated corpses, so yes they are slow and stupid. You probably wont find the game scary, but I found that the first Dead Rising, as funny as it was, to have some really chilling moments.i really enjoy killing zombies and was looking forward to this but the main things holding me back from buying it after seeing the reviews is that it seems very un-challenging and it also seems too much comedy and not enough horror for my taste. i do like that it's the old-school zombie type but, in all in-game footage i've seen, they just seem to stand around mostly, waiting their turn to get killed in some ridiculous way, hardly posing any threat and not requiring any skill. the main focus of the game seems to be to find new entertaining ways to kill all of them, and even though there seem to be many, they will run out sooner or later. therefor i think it won't take me very long to get bored with it.. it's still on my list though, will most likely pick it up at some point but for the meantime l4d will satisfy my zombie killing needs.

FelipeInsideSorry for my IGNORANCE but: - What is this game about? yes, I know it has zombies but Storywise - Was the first one on PC? again, I want to know the story before purchasing this one. theres no real story , its like all world are turned to zombies , and you fight your way trough them to get ZOMBEX medicine wich "cures" zombie infection for 24 hours , so u could be a normal human for that time , i think in part 2 you get that medicine for your daughter

At the beginning of the first you play as Frank West (A photographer) as he goes to investigate the town of Willemette. It was cordoned off by the military, so Frank gets dropped off at the town mall by his helicopter guy for 3 days. During those 3 days you uncover a conspiracy and such. There is no zombrex in the first game >.> Also the first game never came out for Pc, so if you want to know the story read the synopsis on wikipedia, or go watch all of the cutscenes on youtube.
The forced game timer really ruins this game. I don't enjoy replaying games a 2nd time, nor do I really have the time to replay any game over again just to get the complete experience. SOME individual timed missions are fine to put in a game but to have the entire game on a timer is bad design; works fine for arcade Donkey Kong but not an open world game for petes sake.
Thank goodness there is a hack trainer to alter the timer allowing us PC gamers to enjoy the game as fast or slow as we like.
Really? So like there is a timer to finish the entire game or something? The forced game timer really ruins this game. [QUOTE="VeryBumpy"]Really? So like there is a timer to finish the entire game or something? As I understand it, there is a timer on the whole game and a timer on each individual submission within the game. It's to make you feel like the character would feel. I haven't played it myself yet though and just learned that from reviews. The forced game timer really ruins this game.
