I foolishly got rid of my 360 and now i'm going back to it in a way by buying a 360 controller for windows. Does this make me soft-core?

i play console ports and racing games with x360 controller, wich means it's just collecting dust. bought it for Resident Evil 4.
i'm pretty pissed that Assasins Creed doesn't fully support it, even when it's originally a console game. i can't assign functions for those upper "throttle buttons", and the default control settings are also messed up in the beginning.

I use it quite often, it's comfortable and responsive. The D-pad blows though.
I don't understand the complains about Ass Creed. The 360 controller works like a charm in that game. Not that I've played it long enough to say that it won't be buggy down the road.
I don't understand how someone can actually like the dual-shock. That's one of my gripes with the ps3, the ergonomics of the pad suck. At least in my manly hands.

Woah woah woah! Watch who you're calling mister girly hands, mate.
My hands are a very appropriate size for my age and height! My mother said so and everything...
Seriously, though. The dual shock sucks bigtime for games where you need fluid and independent control of camera and character (all FPS games, in other words), but it's an excellent pad for most other things.
Maybe freaks of nature might find it a little too small, but any male with appropriately sized masculine hands (THEY ARE APPROPRIATELY SIZED, DAMNIT!) should find it very comfortable.

Yeah, you're probably right, mr "masculine hands" oooh (first 25 secs), did he use quotation marks there? I believe he did! Problem is that I only have one ps3 game and it's an FPS, lol (Resistance).
It's not like I have freakishly large hands, but they are big enough to screw up my grip on the Sixaxis. Or maybe i'm just not used to it or something. I found the old Xbox controller (Yes, the huge one) to be perfect for gaming (none of my friends agreed on that). Punier controller = less control imo.
hi i'd like 2 no if u can use the xbox 360 controller for windows 2 play world in conflict.
Hope 2 hear from u
360 controller is great to have, most games comming out nowdays have it supported so u dont need to map anything it out, its all done for ya.
alot of games are better on a keyboard and mouse, but playing assassin's creed or Grid on the keyboard is a joke, u almost need a gamepad for those.
plus its alot better to sit back on a couch with a controller instead of hunched over a keyboard
I use it when on I play on my laptop, can't stand using laptop keyboard, or when I play console ports, it's very comfortable.
And about the one who had problems with Assassins Creed I guess he's using XBCD drivers, use official drivers and it should work fine.
