Who here wants to play Crysis instead of going GAGA over the graphics?

Ever since Crysis has been shown people seem to only like the game because it looks so good, but who here actually wants to focus on the gameplay and doesn't care if they have to run the game on low-medium at 1024x768 resolution? I mean no offense to Crytek and EA, but where are the videos of the actual story line and plot? I mean they have shown us countless tech demos and show us how good the game looks, but I think I only saw one video where they actually explained and show actual gameplay (which lasted about two seconds then it was off to look for crabs). I mean I'm not trying to rain on everyones parade, but so far this game just seems like another FPS (which doesn't bother me) with a few twist here and there.

Now not to sound like a roaming fanboy or anything (which I'm not since I game mostly on pc but you get the idea), but Microsoft's 360 Mega title "Mass Effect" has shown its audience both tech demo's and actual gameplay with a lot of the story being explained. This is the sort of thing I would like from Crysis. Perhaps I'm getting to over reactive since the game isn't coming out for another 2-3 months, but I felt like sharing my opinion.

So the question is "Who here doesn't care if their PC can not play the game with most (if any) of the eye candy?"

*I know I could've made a poll, but I think the worlds has enough polls already..

I could honestly care less, the gameplay in Bioshock from what I have seen looks more attractive and innovative from what we have seen of Crysis besides the wow factor of it.

I will probably get it, if it gets good ratings.. But who knows.

Seriously, we shouldn't have to sacrifice graphics for gameplay.

I would play that sucker right now but it probably wouldn't even move on my system. :( I know what you are saying but who needs a storyline in a FPS anyways? It's all about shooting and the colision detection looks awesome not like in STALKER where you are shooting the guy and get no feedback, you don't even see the blood or the body respond to the bullets so untill he dies you don't really know if you've hit him or not. The game looks really solid and the demo had no bugs at all, what do you wan't more? They were really showcasing the games engine not the game itself, it was more for other companies who might buy the engine and create their own games with it not for the public, that's why you didn't see any storyline. The game is waaaay overhyped though. The graphics aren't THAT great it's just the light, you see. That's what's making the difference, the light actually looks real, like coming from the sun not a neon. The engine looks really easy to use though so the one thing that is making me really excited is the prospect of serious online mods like CS was for HL. Just imagine, a really good online shooter with that engine. Now that will be awesome...

crysis is all about graphics same as far cry , story will most likely be forgoten the minute you finish the game or it will be totaly incoprehensible and irelevant.

i say again crysis is all about graphics.

accept it you will spare yourself the disapointment of a sucky story.

Who needs a storyline in a FPS? Alright, they'll just put you on an island to shoot a bunch of Koreans.

I agree with you on the new engine, I just hope it's well optimized, and the DX10 component works well.

Do people actually just buy games to sit there and stare at them? I'm afraid I already know the answer to that. But the way I see, Crysis' over the top graphics will just be icing on the cake. The gameplay looks fun enough.

People did the same thing for Far Cry, and it turned out to be just an OK game. I think I beat it, treid the multiplayer which sucked out loud when it first came out, and then I went on to a differnt game.

I'm more interested in the gameplay and story than I am in the graphics. So yes, it would be nice to see a bit more on the background of the game without too many spoilers. Will there be objectives to complete etc.? Although I have to say I enjoyed Far Cry in spite of the somewhat shallow and generic storyline because it excelled in terms of gameplay.

My goal by the end of next year is to get a worthy enough CPU that can play games like Crysis, Star Craft II, and Gears of War at max levels...but it's still a loooong ways away from the end of next year and so much saving to do.

But hopefully I can reach that goal so I can enjoy these games the way they're meant to be played...so I guess the answer to your question is that I don't mind playing Crysis for the gameplay, but the desire to play it with maxed out graphics is also there.

So I guess it's both.

I never play ANY game at full graphic levels. Mostly this is because I refuse to drop thousands of dollars a year on upgrades just to do so. I can take or leave a storyline in a FPS as well. Just give me some good action, reasonable graphics, some good sound effects (no music please), and make it worth my 50 bucksand I'm a happy guy.

My interest in Crysis is mostly due to its physics, I'm not expecting much from the story and eye candy ain't my thing, I'm guessing it's a bit like Farcry where you are indeed just thrown in a jungle to shoot stuff. I never finished Farcry, and I doubt I'll ever finish Crysis either ..if I even get a computer that can run it.

... Man what is a good game in your book then? Farcry from most scored a AAA.. The game has solid gameplay no matter which way you look at it.. The only thing that was lacking was the story, and the story really wasn't that important.. It was alright from getting you from point A to B..

First when I saw crysis I wanted really bad when some gameplay movies came out I thought I looked boring because of the nono suit, but the graphics are great.
