Take yer pick of characters from the old Lucasarts adventure games. My favorite are Sam & Max. Also Manny from "grim fandango" and his sidekick friend "Glottis" a hotrodding demon.

it has got to be manny calavera ... there are other honorable mentions though like...carl johnson(GTA SA), that protagonist from FEAR who could really kick ass, Prince of persia himself, all the characters in onimusha, blah blah blah the list just goes on
