Ok Im playing thorugh ep2 I have played hal-life 2 and ep1(great games) but who is the gman.

He shows upout of nowhere and is always watching me.

He can stop time and has some kind of magic but he's human? WHo is he?

This is a huge assumption. Given that he is clearly some form of magician or wizard, perhaps he has a +4 amulet of doppleganging and is in fact not human at all, but just looks like one. Maybe he's even wearing a pointed hat. An invisible pointed hat.Wizards can do that, you know.

The truth is, we don't know. No one really knows. Except Valve. And they won't tell us. Because they're bastards. Fantasy is often better than reality, though, some mysteries are better off unsolved.I doubt we'll ever find out, and that's part of the fun.

It's like what my sister hides in her sock drawer. I could go in and find out. There's something in there. I'm sure of it. But if I found out what it was, there'd be no fun in speculating. And my innocence would be very, very sullied.

Its because he and gordon are not getting older i think.They are in some kind of space hole between episodes,and gordon is waiting for Gmans orders,or smthing like that.

Personally, I'd rather watch for the twist when it comes around instead of making wild guesses. However, my guess is that the Gman is some sort of representative for some higher being, group, or organization; of what, we don't know yet.

I'm also glad to see no one's got pants-on-head stupid and said something like "teh Gmanz is acually Kleiner wit hairz, lawl!!!111!"

Yeah, but Valve have been hearing theory that for nine years now, so they're not going to do anything that cliche'd.

Personally, I'm hoping that they finish the series without telling the player who/what he is. It would be awesome! :D

It worked well with other characters, and I think it would be the best move with the G-Man. Of course, many people will disagree because it is frustrating... at first.

from what I've seen in the half life series I just really hope this isn't shaping up to have that cop out "IT WAS ALL A SET UP" type ending.ElArab

You know what, I REALLY think its going that way, or at least to some crappy resolution of the story in that respect. I can smell a cop-out...
