I'm not excited at all, though I am paying attention to it. I'm not going to say it certainly won't be good or bad until I see some gameplay footage, of course. But yeah, I don't have much faith it'll be more than so-so with it being done by Treyarch. And I will also say that what we can tell about the game just from the teaser doesn't look impressive. The animations don't look very life-like, and the actiony portions of the teaser were missing that "Call of Duty intensity." The graphics also look worse than in CoD4 (not from a technological standpoint so much as worse use of the graphics engine), showing what seems to be a lack of talent in Treyarch's graphical artists.
It sure would be nice if we could have a reputable developer make a WWII game in the pacific theater.
I'm cautiously excited for the Wii version of it. 3 was pretty good on Wii, although the lack of multiplayer sucked.
PC version will just be overshadowed by too many better games. Hell, even overrated CoD4 is probably better than what WaW will be.
Well I am like most people skeptical because of the developer and the chosen setting.
We're going back to WWII again. However I am still intrigued to see how they will handle the Pacific. No war game has really nailed it yet and it will be challenging to effectively render the terrain etc. You can't have the same linear environments from COD obviously and that could really change the feel of the game. The other half of the game - the Russian campaign towards Berlin is flying under the radar a bit which makes me wonder how much attention it is going to receive in its development.
Squad commands in COD? I don't know if this is the right direction or not. The notion of the other games is that you are always just another soldiers, taking order from other and getting into the thick of combat, with a rapid fire pace to the game. Laying down orders and commands could slow things and make this feel anything but a COD game.
They are opting for realism in this but I doubt that that will equate to a particularly deep storyline.
I am intrigued but I really don't know how this is going to turn out.
I'm the same. Didn't even bother trying the MP for COD4 after having completed the SP campaign.

your missiong out, multiplayer is half the game!
What's WAW? I'm that unexcited. I hope they eventually take the hint, that Treyarch is a crappy developer.Hot_Potato
World at War.

I personally thought that medal of honor: pacific assault did a pretty good job. but then again, it's the only game that has really been created in a attempt to have a realistic pacific WWII setting.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who's skeptical about this game, i wonder, out of curiosity, if console gamers are getting all pumped up for this one, i bet they are.
Not excited one little bit.
Will we get to play as the Japanese? I will be very disappointed if this game is as one-sided as the rest. I really enjoyed playing as the Germans in CoD1.

what? you mean in the multiplayer? cause you can play as the germans in COD2's multiplayer, there is no german single player missions in any of the call of duty games.

I read about that game that the levels were like shoeboxes with imaginery walls you couldn't pass through. That is one of my main fears about setting a game in the Pacific. It just can't be contrived like that.
Lets just see how this comes out.Im so/so on it.Graphics look good and im pumped for japan, but if its like cod 4 then ill be really dissapointed.Shortest campaign ever.

Wow so that would be 36 hours of gameplay? :P
Remember you still have the multiplayer component of the game to expand the life of it. It is still part of the game!!
