I bought two pc games today sims 2 night life and age of empires 3, they are both brand new no scratches at all when i try and put them in my disc drive my p.c doesnt reconise either of them it just says please insert disc in drive, i thought maybe it was my disc drive so i tried sims 2 not the exspansion pack just the normal sims 2 that ive had for like a year that loaded up fine, i then tried battlefield 2 that loaded up fine, im not sure if theres somthing wrong with my disc drive that wont let the computer reconise disc that havent been installed, i kept taking out and putting back in age of empires 3 it finly did load up tried installing it installed disc 1 fine but it came to disc 2 and wouldnt reconise it. please help

check to make sure the game is not a DVD, that happened to me with Company of Heroes, then check how much space is on you hard drive, having low memory will make a computer do all sorts of weird things

have you been able to try the disks in another PC? If they work in that then you can say your cd drive is on the way out. My PC from 5 years ago started doing that where a lot of disks were not reading (sometimes nothing would happen, sometimes you could hear a whiny noise and it would try to read but no luck).

Otherwise you have some dud disks and should try and exchange them. Oh the only other thing I can think of is if you have something like daemon tools you should try uninstalling it as it does create some of its own device driver things.

ok. If that does not work you could always try and update your firmware for your drive.

I would mostly be due to your optical drive. Tryusingalenscleaningsolution.iftheproblempersistsdumpthedrive.

Ease up, I dont think they wrote like that on purpose, noticed some of my messages a few days agoafter posting had the whitespaces removed.

As for your firmware yes be careful as you can screw it up, but just find out what model cd drive you have then refer to the manufacturers website.
