just wondering what most poeple do out there when it comes to shuting down their pc or just leaving it on all of the time?

i don't know if not turning it off is the reason, but it seems my old video card (7600 GT) was killed somehow. perhaps it burnt out?

My dad leaves his computer on all the time and technicality I am the same as I don’t shut down mine but hibernate because my laptop because it had this problem where if it started up from a full shut down it would go to me desktop and not run anything.
