I've been told Dell sucks, Acer sucks, HP sucks, etc. and I want to know who makes the best laptops. And preferably if the come in Matte finishes. But that isn't important.

I have a toshiba satellite that I've had since sept of 07.. I upgraded to 2gb of ram.

It's not a super duper gaming machine, but it gets me by with games like ffxi, tomb raider legend, the sims 2.

However, the screen isn't as bright as I'd like it to be. Other than that, no problems with mine. I've dropped mine twice, and nothing has broken. It's a pretty sturdy computer.

Some dell laptops are good. Gateway makes good ones. Alienware also makes good ones, but they're expensive.

Falcon uses a clamshell produced by Clevo as do many other "boutique" vendors. My favorite and most budget-conscious would be www.sagernotebook.com. Additionally, you can save some cash by purchasing from a reseller, like www.powernotebooks.com. There's a couple of pennies for ya.

Falcon Northwest, Dell, Toshiba, ASUS (i got 4 of those, and I'm an authorized ASUS dealer :-D), Sager, You can try www.xoticpc.com they have good deals, the best of whats out there, fast shipping, and cheaper prices than what you normally get at retail, whether online/in-store.

Ofcourse you have to have some kind of PC knowledge to choose what you would want in your laptop. Since all laptops at www.xoticpc.com are customizable.
