whenever there is a best game no one played or under the radar game thread, i always mention sacrifice. I was in love with that game for years. Persephone was fun btw, i remember her for some reason. The game was just awesome, with a fun story, and at the time, visually amazing. I would love to see a remake, sequal, or whatever.
If i remember correctly, wasnt sacrifice one of Monolith's first hits? Or even first game maybe?
I too love this game, it stands with Giants: Citizen Kabuto as one of the most enjoyable games I've played. I've been hoping that they'd make a sequal or a game like it. The closest I've found is Overlord, but that lacked the undefinable awesomeness (someone could probably define it... but I can't think of it at the moment) that Sacrifice had.
I've gone through the game several times, finished it following Persephone, James (the earthworm dude in my pic) and Charnel. Pyro and Stratos were fun to use too, especially their ultimate spells.
Ya I remember Sacrifice and Giants coming out both around the same time, I bought them both on the same day, there both two of the best games ever made, but a sequel can't happen :( as great as the first one was it's sales were bad, same with Giants. Only the mod community can bring them back.
Sacrifice was made by Shiny, a pariah of sorts (which is a good thing in my books) who made Messiah and the Matrix series. I have the game (got it last year) and it will get a run. But it is one that should be purchased out of respect, if anything.
As for a sequel or a remake? Nah, people should just play the original.

My friend let me install it on my comp one time, and it was awesome. Third-person commander that can control units. An immediate classic on my list.
They should make a sequel to it, kinda like Freelancer (check that out, too).
