I Sure Would!

Half Life was structured like an action movie. As for Half Life 2, that is a different story.i don't
a 8~10 hour story .... or even 25 hours depending how far the in the episodes the film is going
waza000
all brought back to a 2hour movie, it always ends up being horrible
We just did this several days ago, no offense. And we did it about a week before that, too. In any case, I don't want to see one because there is a 98% chance it would be mediocre at best and total crap at worst. Of course, I would like to see a well-made movie of Half-Life, and I agree with what mfsa said in the last thread about it all being in first-person (through Gordon's eyes). But there are a lot of games I would like to see made into good movies. Do I want to see someone attempt to make HL into a movie? No, absolutely not.
More Than A Movie a TV series would be better!

No, that would be even worse. TV shows have a greater tendency to be lower-budget and to have scripts written by much less skilled writers, not to mention the last thing I want Half-Life made into is another cheesy Sci-Fi channel show, probably the only station that would take with the idea for a series.
not me. everything i need is in the games. after all, the games are quite cinematic in and of themselves.
Name one video game that was ever made into a decent movie?
double dragon. no, wait... street fighter! no, no, that wasn't... mortal kombat!! on second thought... resident evil!!! oh, that was only because of the hotness of milla... tomb raider!!!! wait, i just got distracted by angelina's side boobs... super mario bros!!!!! oh, no, that was a case of a movie being so bad it's good...

Mediocre, sucked, and haven't seen it yet.

Name one video game that was ever made into a decent movie?ttomm1946I thought Mortal Kombat was decent. It captured the game pretty well even though it lacked the buckets of blood and gore.

I wasn't flaming, I was giving my personal opinion on two of the movies he listed.

I agree, Mortal Kombat is one of the only movies to ever do a pretty good job at recreating a game. All others that I've seen that I can think of were never beyond mediocre.

Yeah, it's because Mortal Kombat isn't really complex. It's a fighting game and that can easily be translated into a kung-fu type of fighting movie. A lot of games out there have the potential to be made into good movies, but so far no one has really been able to do it. It would be great to see an amazing Half Life movie, but if it was to be one of those half-assed videogame movies then I wouldn't like to see it.I definitely would, on two conditions:
1. it is given the same kind of loving treatment that films like 300 and Sin City have gotten, Very true to the original - stuff added, but nothing taken away.
2. first person. Not negotiable. It has to be shot entirely in first person. It can work, if done properly.
Why not? It could be good if the director was good enough. There was a rumour that Quentin Tarantino was thinking of making a movie about HL2(or was it HL1).
Of course, if made, Gordon should do things what mute ppl would do(except writing down stuff on paper), like point at things or make facial expressions, instead of just looking like *Im gonna whack you with my crowbar*
yeah, or something close to the action. Just like in Children of Men. That movie reminded me of half-life 2 alot.I definitely would, on two conditions:
