stalker is the archetypal hit or miss game, it's either gonna be awesome or awful - i just don't see it falling into the mediocre slot
but the game has been so ambitious, i plan on buying it even if it turns out to be bad, just to see what the developers were trying to do with the game, because it really does seem quite fascinating
i would like to try a demo first, but i think i'm just gonna take the plunge and buy it anyway - it's not like there's much else going on in the gaming world since bioshock, hellgate, crysis, ut3 and about a billion other pc games have been delayed from march-ish to september

Yes the game shows promise but it's not ready to be released any time soon, theres sooo many bugs and weird issues with the game. I just hope thats the MP and they've been focusing on the SP, but i don't think that'll be the case. Problem is the graphics are looking soooo old that if they delay people wont care cause theres Crysis etc etc.
I'll be buying it just because it's set in Chernobyl
