I'll buy it if its general score from various gaming sites average over 82. Or if user reviews tell a different story from professional reviews. Sometimes professional reviews are terrible.
after trying the MP beta i was a little bit disepointet but hell the game was still awesome and the SP will probally kick ass to some im getting the game when it ships out :)
I already bought it.......just waiting for it to be released. I imagine the gameplay is going to be a lot like Boiling Point, except 10X less buggy and more interesting. STALKER is definitely not geared towards the mainstream audience, but it's going to be an amazing game.
I was very dissapointed by the beta. The ranking system isn't very great and i think the guns are way tooooo big. The graphics are really nice but it's crap compared to other games.
stalker is the archetypal hit or miss game, it's either gonna be awesome or awful - i just don't see it falling into the mediocre slot
but the game has been so ambitious, i plan on buying it even if it turns out to be bad, just to see what the developers were trying to do with the game, because it really does seem quite fascinating
i would like to try a demo first, but i think i'm just gonna take the plunge and buy it anyway - it's not like there's much else going on in the gaming world since bioshock, hellgate, crysis, ut3 and about a billion other pc games have been delayed from march-ish to september

Hopefully there will be a demo to try out. I always try out demos first before making a purchasing decision. If there is no demo, I'll wait for reviews and impressions to start filtering through before making a decision. Although I have to say I would probably be willing to give the game a try anyway, just to see how it has turned out and support the devs for trying something more ambitious than all these generic shooters we get these days.
Yes the game shows promise but it's not ready to be released any time soon, theres sooo many bugs and weird issues with the game. I just hope thats the MP and they've been focusing on the SP, but i don't think that'll be the case. Problem is the graphics are looking soooo old that if they delay people wont care cause theres Crysis etc etc.

Most likely buy it the day it releases. Unless it turns out to be far too buggy and unoptimized.(like Gothic III, I was going to get it, but I wanted to wait until they fixed it, still haven't got it yet.) then I might wait for a lot of patches before getting it. Or if it turn out horrible I will just try a demo, but not purchase it.
